Dickey's Barbecue Pit — Restaurant in Colorado

THE FOOD IS 5 STAR. It was the rude and terrible svc from the 2 workers. This is me and my son's second time going in because the 1st time was so great with very friendly young men, very helpful, the price, the amount and the taste was superb. Because of this, my son wanted to go back! But this 2nd visit, the woman handling the food was VERY unpleasant. I even cracked a joke to lighten her mood, and she never smiled and didn't want to look at me as if she hated me. And the male-she who checked us out - also never smiled, timid, and wouldn't look up. The cashier didn't get my order right, spoke too quietly, and didn't give us our receipt or remind us of the ice cream. A man from back came to serve a couple next to us, told them of the free ice cream and they looked at us and we smiled and all 4 of us got happy about that. Sitting there eating was making me more upset because the rude lady smiled at the white folks.and greeted them and even joked with the he-she cashier but when I came up to ask for a cone with a smile, the woman handling the food immediately stopped smiling and walked away, glanced at me and looked away fast. I tried making the cashier smile too and nothing. Terrible service from...

Not a great experience. You can barely hear the guy behind the counter that is cutting the meat. I don't even know exactly who you are supposed to give your order to. The other guy behind the counter was not wearing gloves even though he is serving side dishes and closing up the boxes. I ordered a total of 4 meals to go and when the guy ringing us up asked if we needed any sauces I said I needed some original bbq sauce and some spicy. I also asked for ranch for the fried okra we bought. He gave us one of each bbq sauce and forgot the ranch for four meals..I got home with the food no more than 5 minutes away. The two pulled pork plates the meat was cold. The ribs we got were burned like burned burned chard to a point where biting into it was nearly impossible. I gave the ribs to our dog. The brisket I got was also probably 40% fat. The food was absolutely bad and I paid $52 for it. I doubt I will return. I assure you if i ever go back I will check my food before I leave.

Tried to place an order online for my husband to pick up. It is not an option to pay when you pick up, you must pay by credit card (which we never do). So I called the restaurant to place the order for two, 2 meat specials that were shown online. The man on the phone informed me that he couldn’t take that order over the phone, that was an online special only. What? You offer it, but I can’t order it? And your website will not allow me to place an order & pay at the store when we pick up, instead of using a credit card! Stupid! So, Hubby decided to go ahead & stop in to pick up lunch, even though we couldn’t order ahead to have it ready. Now, on to the food…..lackluster at best. Canned pork n beans (heated at least), blah cold slaw, the okra was ok, but no smoke flavor in the meat at all (We tried 4 meats) but the ribs were tender. The chopped “brisket” (notice the quotes) was more like roast. All in all, a 2 rating is the best I can do. Those people who refer to this as true Texas BBQ, have obviously never had Texas BBQ & are delirious! Been there, done that -...
