was our first time for our family visiting Maria's and what a disappointment in every way. We had a reservation for 7 people as my family was driving from different areas to all meet up here to celebrate my daughter's 19th birthday. My daughter and I arrived first and got there early. I went to use the restroom and it was so dirty I actually thought about finding another place for us to eat as that's usually not a good sign for a restaurant. As I explain more to you I should have followed my instincts after my poor bathroom experience. We sat down at our table waiting for the rest of our family to arrive and they brought chips and salsa. My daughter went to take a chip and next thing I see her spit something out of her mouth and it was a little rubber band that's used for braces from someone's mouth. One of the worst things you could ever imagine since there was in her mouth knowing it was in one of the employees mouth. we waited over 10 minutes I finally got up as we needed water from the nice and tasty spicy salsa and ask the young server for water and to speak to the manager regarding the rubber band in the tortilla chip problem. We got our Waters in the manager who I thinks the owner came up and she apologized for what happened but before I could say anything she said that nobody there had braces that's working in the kitchen. I never mentioned anything about it being a rubber band from braces so I figured she must know someone there and who has braces working for her. that would definitely be a rough start as we've only been there for about 15 minutes then had all these problems already. The rest of our family showed up we had to ask for the waters once again for the rest of the guests. We decided to order a couple appetizers one being nachos and the other guacamole. I asked her what came with the nacho since it said supreme nachos on the menu but didn't have a description and the young server didn't even know what came on the nachos and had to go ask somebody. She came back and explained it and then told us they have no guacamole. It's only 6 at night which is the beginning of the dinner rush but things can happen but when you look at everything that's gone on so far it just was one more strike against our first time experience at Maria's Cafe. numerous times through our meal I had to ask and even get up once to ask for water refills. I had ordered a potato taquito appetizer and when it showed up it actually had a nice sliced avocado on it so it really made me wonder why they couldn't just made some guacamole real quick since they obviously had avocados. I told him when I made the reservation it was celebrate my daughter's birthday and they saw us with cards on the table in her opening cards and never even offered to bring a birthday dessert specially after my daughter being the one that got the rubber band from one of her employees braces in the chips. What a disappointing experience and will definitely never be back. The food was actually pretty good but when you consider all the problems we had in our one first experience they definitely deserve this poor review. The young servers working there seems like they were overwhelmed even though they weren't that busy and had no menu knowledge. They really need to train them better for hire more people to be able to give better service as Waters a pretty basic thing to want when you go out to eat and during your hard...
Read moreThis place has great food period. It was nice to see the place not packed, had 2 tables with clients. We were sat by the young blond haird lady. I did notice the older lady laughing with a gal that was sitting down eating in the back of the restaurant. Then 10 minutes later 3 additional tables get occupied. We didn't get our chips nor drinks yet. For some reason the young gal tells the older Mexican lady because they don't have names, that the table 10 was first. At this point I said no big deal didn't address the fact that we were first. So the older lady with white strips finally comes over to take our drink orders but since we had been sitting waiting for someone to attends us we put in our full order. Again we waited, every table after us had their drinks and chips ahead of us. Then the older lady sat in the back with her food on break. It's frustrating by this time. She didn't relay the message to get our drinks for us to neither of the 2 younger gals that were serving. The blond gal saw that I had a question asked what I needed and I said we need our drinks. They got one order wrong and ut was fixed then the other order was burned and you think they came around to ask if we needed refills?? I had to get up and ask. It's sad to say if the owner isn't present things don't flow the same without her. I was very disappointed, burnt food was compensated either, not busy enough for terrible...
Read moreI came today after calling in 2 seperate orders of pazole. I asked the lady who answered if 2 seperate bags of chips would be given she said yes. When i arrived it was 1 bag of chips and i explained to lupe the waitress i placed 2 seperate orders each should have come with its own bag. She then proceeded to take the one small bag of chips and pour it into a 2nd bag to split that small bag in 2. I asked for a manager because that was unacceptable especially when each order should have come with its own bag because it was for a co worker. She refused a manager instead she threw another bag in with a really nasty attitude. This is not the first time i have received terrible customer service from the new waitresses they have. I have been left on hold when placing a order and came in to order while my phone was still on hold and watched the lady hang up the line not even realizing i was the one she had on hold. Good food but they have gotten worse with customer service since i first started coming here. Id rather take my buisness elsewhere bc i dont appreciate how rude the waitress lupe is and i miss the old girls they were so friendly. I have also included one of the bags of chips she had inside the order after splitting a bag in half...
