The only good thing about this place is the food. But here is my issue the lady who runs Moo Over is extremely rude. I’ve heard multiple stories from other people about how they constantly say they do not want to be involved with the community. I’ve had many friends from other local owned businesses and school organizations tell me about how they don’t want to help out. With this being said, the Art Crawl happens to be a different story. I’m extremely glad that they wanted to be apart of the exhibition of this particular thing. But since they have multiple times shut down the youth for wanting to help out their community they were not apart or asked to be involved. So with that the owner had taken to facebook and posted a passive aggressive post toward the Columbia City Connect. Which stated that they were upset with the fact they weren’t involved in Third Thursday Art. I believe this is very petty as in the past they didn’t want to be involved with anything in the community and it makes me very frustrated to see them so upset at the fact they weren’t involved. It makes me so sad to see such a fantastic business being ran by somebody who is inconsiderate to the rest of...
Read moreVery cute and homey little place that at first appears to be a trendy coffee shop, but is actually a plant-based, dairy-free, allergen-free vegan bakery/ice cream spot.
I only bring this up to say that the coffee drinks are a bit of an afterthought here, if you are a coffee snob or expecting a high-quality latte, this is not the place for that. Don't get me wrong, the coffee is perfectly fine, it's just not "coffee shop coffee". I ordered an iced vanilla latte, and it was given to me as a very layered, odd drink with the syrup stuck to the bottom of the cup, oatmilk poured on top of that, and espresso dumped on top... sort of the exact opposite of a latte heh. Again, I mixed it up, it was fine, no real issues.
But the bakery stuff... oh my gosh. My son is allergic to tree nuts, and I WISH he had been here with me, he would have been in heaven. I had the 'vegan Ho-Ho' and it was absolutely amazing... i don't really care for sweet or bakery items in general, but I would eat these until I passed out lol.
Wonderful location, decor, aesthetic, and family atmosphere. Would...
Read moreI finally tried some of Moo-Over's treats after stopping by their booth at the YLNI farmers market in downtown Fort Wayne. The guy working the booth was very friendly and helpful, and let us sample a few different flavors of ice creme. The Rocky Road and Pea Not Butter were both delicious, so I bought a pint of each. I also bought a small strawberry rhubarb pie, which was amazing. It was so good that I stopped by the Allen County Marketplace the following week to try some more pie flavors. It's probably the best GF pie crust I've had.
I have celiac and also have to eat dairy in moderation, so I really appreciate that they make desserts that are both allergen friendly & delicious!! And I'm also glad that they attend some markets in Fort Wayne because that is much more convenient for me than making a trip out to Columbia City. I look forward to trying your other items!
If you have food allergies, you cannot try this place soon enough! Even if you're someone who is skeptical of allergen-friendly desserts, I challenge you to give this...
