Oriental Buffet — Restaurant in Columbia City

Just wow. Rude rude rude service.... Asked if I could get plain fried rice because I'm highly allergic to the veggies they had in the rice and was told i could pick threw them........ Can't serve your own food so its a nightmare trying to explain what you want cause they don't listen. Yelled at me for grabbing my food tray they had. Yet they told me to go on the other side of the buffet to get it. Told me I could not have but a tiny plastic cup of hot chili oil when I asked for alot and had to argue with them to get more. Not a pleasant experience for a first time customer. I was still eating when I asked for some more crunchy fried noodles for the soup and the woman forced me to give her the one I was eating out of before she would give me anymore. All she did was throw it away. Never asked if I wanted anymore soda only asked my husband if he wanted more water.... Went to celebrate the birthday of my twin nephews so there were 10 of us. It was 1pm on a Sunday and they weren't busy at all. My son got there early to let them know we had 10. They seated us at separate tables! We asked if we could be seated together and she shook her head no. My son asked if we could put the tables together, she said no. There was plenty of room and again, they were not busy, maybe 3-5 other tables. That was very frustrating! It was hard to have conversation or spend time with my nephews which is why we were there! Then, the food, which is usually amazing, was barely warm and some were dried out and crusty. It looked like it had been sitting out since they had opened. The soup was barely warm, like room temperature at best. It was just an overall disappointing experience. We had eaten here often but I'm not sure we will be returning anytime soon. Staff was on edge. I didn't feel very comfortable eating with my girlfriend. The food was pretty good. I'm only giving a 3 star because of the way I felt the staff approached/ treated my girlfriend. The house special chicken is really good. The susie was rolled with Sysco shredded cheese and the wasabi bowl was very crusty and not "refreshed." And for a place to have signs up all over the walls about sanitation I felt like it was just a front. And maybe they are just exhausted because of everything this country has been through the past year and more. I will be back because everyone deserves a second chance. But I don't think that will change my rating. I hope this place gets better. Because everyone loves a solid buffet with quality food in a warm environment. Cheers...
