Outlaw is correct as they act with intentional, sadly they turned out to be con artists, using highly unethical and possibly illegal pricing tactics. They hand you a menu with prices in bold print. It turns out that those are cash prices only which is not made clear. Bait and switch, thieves!!!
Learning of this after a friend noticed on the menu board the small hidden notice - on the third time eating there when we were stranded in town while a vehicle was worked on.
Pure BS ... tell people before you charge the debit or credit card that your business doesn't honor the prices on the menu. If told up front it is one thing, at least customer can make an informed decision, but not being told is nothing short of dishonest.
I am disputing the charges with my bank since I was charged differently than what I was led to believe I was paying for the meals.
Reply to the BS response by owner seen below.
The add on was not for tax it is a penalty for not paying in cash. If the menu states a price I expect to pay that and any appropriate taxes. I don't expect a surcharge for using a debit card. The 3% was added on to the bill, it was not a discount offered for paying cash as the owner tried to claim below.
I travel all over the USA and have never had this type of charge. I have been to and purchased from businesses that offer a discount if paying with cash. Being up front is all that is necessary.
The response by the owner says it all. They hide the fact that add a 3% charge for using a bank DEBIT card (hint same as cash). It was not the 3%, but the way that it is hidden that upset me.
I'm laughing at the tirade about mean people being asked to leave - I wasn't mean I just left and posted honest review about the scam / deceptive business practices. I just called out the truth and he or she is all butt hurt. Trying to claim I have an attitude, if refusing to do business with a company that uses deceptive practices is having an attitude let me know where to get my t-shirt that says "I have an attitude with businesses that are DECEPTIVE" ... I will wear it proudly.
This is not the American way of treating customers. Though, sadly I have seen more bad customer service over the last ten...
Read moreDecided to try this place after browsing their menu online and seeing their Big Dipper (philly) sandwich. The description sounded phenomenal so my spouse and I headed in for brunch. The place was clean and decorated to match the name - very cool. There were only 2 ladies working and they were very friendly and helpful. I excitedly ordered my sandwich and my hubs his meal. After sitting for approximately 10 minutes, the chef came to let me know they were out of roast beef so couldn't make my sandwich. No big deal, I opted to copy my hubs and get the biscuit with gravy, sausage patty and some eggs. This is were things went south. The gravy was very cold, to the point the biscuits & gravy were inedible. The potatoes look nice and crisp but we're a soggy mess. Don't even get me started on the charred sausage patties that were lower than Jimmy Dean quality. The eggs were about the only edible part of the meal. I understand being short staffed, but upon entering were the only customers there. They make you pay first and do not come back to check on you so heads up on that. Overall, decent experience just poor...
Read moreDefinitely will not be back. The lady who runs the till is rude. They don't make your eggs any other way then scrambled. It says on the door coffee is free with meal before 8 which is ridiculous because it was old and cold when we came in around 10 am. You can't have your eggs the way you want them. My bill should have been around 34$ and it was 56$.... She said because they charge more for resort tax BECAUSE I USED A CARD. You have to get your drinks yourself and silverware yourself. Absolutely will not be back. There is a reason this place is empty constantly. After we paid for our meal we sat down to eat and wanted another coffee and milk and for the price of a tiny milk we could have gotten a gallon... You can blame it on resort tax all you want but you wont have people coming back with service like yours. When you close out the bill it asks for a tip for what for serving myself? Get waitresses, some hot coffee, and someone who knows how to cook eggs sunny side up... Not a lot to ask for when you have a 50+ tab...
