Let me start off by saying I had the worst experience at the Egg up grill. Secondly managment need to take an look at how their server's view customers. Me and my wife walked in thinking this was going to be an great place for the both of us after being so busy after valentine day . We run an business that was super busy the day before. Our service for when we first walked in was great and welcoming. Then our sever was not as welcoming as the host. I got an oj and wife got an tea. My cup was dirt so I asked her if she could get me another oj but in an Togo cup.she took my oj an just poured the oj from the dirty cup and put it in the togo cup. How I know she did this is there was piece of black stuff floating around in the old cup, with oj all on the side of the cup without wiping the cup before bring it back out to me. Her attitude was very nasty towards us as if we where a bother to her. My wife got grits with cheese no cheese, Food was cold. Never got to tell her nothing because she keep walking away so fast. Understand this I was an sever 5 years and I could never serve anyone the way I was served today. Being judged by my appearance is not right. Yes I was so tired so we just put on sweats. And being that we own our own business, we both had not had the time to get our locs retwist. I can always tell we I'm being judged and this was an moment were we was being judged. She didnt want to come check on us, didn't offer refills, didn't come back to see if our food was good. Seen this women 3 times our whole visit. Both me and my wife told each other that we was going to bless whoever severed us today since we did so great for valentine. Had our 100 dollar tip ready, but how we was treated by this women, I did not want to give my hard earned money to her. End up going to get gas down the street and the man behind the counter was so kind, and welcoming I just paid with the same 100 dollars and told him to keep the change. Moral to the store is dont cast judgment on people so fast. You never know who was sent to bless...
Read moreAte here as of 1.11.2020. Just 3 stars because of how rude the hostess & the lady outside who took our name down was. The food was delicious & my waitress was awesome! When I walked up to the door as the lady outside held the door she was very rude in looking at me limping with a handycap. She knew this because we pulled up in the first handicapped park right in front of the door. It's very rude to stare, since I saw & felt her hard stare she never said anything. The hostess tried to help some other people, instead of even acknowledging the fact that my dad & I were standing right there in plain sight, waiting to be seated! She asked us our name but still never lead us to our table. I noticed she wanted make it an obvious point to wait until the party in front of us finished paying for their bill, while telling us we needed to wait. I'm not sure if she was truthful about the busboy needed to clean our table first or not because within seconds she grabbed our menus & proceeded to walk to our table. She saw that we were not her color & chose to not assist us when we came into the door. Not sure how rude people like these two were given jobs to greet customers as the first walk through the door, but I felt like I really wasn't welcome nor wanted in this establishment. If it weren't for the the waitress who was short in stature & really sweet, I would have been ready to complain to the manager! The black waitress was also really sweet she spoke to us walking in & leaving, even though we were not seated at any...
Read moreFood is usually pretty good, although I’ve had a few visits where quality wasn’t very consistent. Biggest issue is lacking customer service.
On a recent visit, my wife and I sat at the small counter in the front of the restaurant. It was around 12:30 PM on a Friday. We had the worst experience to date. We weren’t greeted for close to 10 minutes, with 3 to 4 servers walking past us at the counter many times. When we finally got a server, she was incredibly cold the entire time. We got everything we asked for, but felt like we’re a nuisance rather than a paying customer.
Food wasn’t great on this visit either. I got a waffle with bacon and eggs and side order of grits with cheddar. Waffle was way over cooked and my grits had like half cup of cheese in them making the basically inedible.
The tipping point for us was a different server. She literally said out loud, to no one in particular mind you, that she hated the job as well as everyone that worked there. She openly complained each time another party of customers entered the restaurant and had negative remarks every time she returned to the counter about them. There did appear to be a manager on duty, but he wasn’t aware or didn’t care about the service failures in...
