House of Frames and Paintings, Inc. dba HoFP Gallery — Attraction in Columbia

My friend visiting from DC wanted to buy art and have it shipped home upon her visit to SC. We intended to shop here this am but the moment we proceeded to walk through the door the gentlemen said “ put on a mask or leave” we were somewhat shocked by this as no other businesses are requesting this but we said “ok we don’t have masks, may you provide one and we will wear it” we stayed we were vaccinated which I know people lie but we truly are and have proof . He yelled at us and said “ are you going to buy anything if I give you one or not” mind you we had not even gotten through the door to even shop yet. My friend and I were seriously in awe at what to say … I’ve never been treated so unprofessionally from a business. I’m still somewhat in shock that this individual behind the counter was so unwelcoming and seemed to just plain not want to make a sale or give us the opportunity. My recommendation would be to not shop here as your money and purchase may be better appreciated by some other art stores in Columbia. Wonderful service by knowledgeable staff. My mother’s home in FL was destroyed by Hurricane Michael in 2018. Afterwards she moved up to Columbia bringing many family photos and pictures that had sustained considerable water damage. HoFP was able to help restore those photos and reframe them. They did a beautiful job salvaging photos we thought were likely destroyed. We’re very grateful for the memories they helped to save.

More recently I’ve gotten some artwork reframed by them and they did a great job with it as well. We’ve trusted HoFP with items that have great sentimental value to our family and they’ve done impeccable work. I’ll certainly be giving them more business...

Condescending employee when requesting help. I know nothing about frames, the cost, or what to preface my request with other than the size. When you are talking to a customer with absolutely no knowledge, please be kind.
