We visited Burger Tavern 77 on a whim, not real hungry but needed something. The place is quirky, cute signage, and different items to look at around the place. We were seated quickly, and ordered (5) pretzels, the plate weren't cleaned properly so he brought us some clean ones, (I hope) We ordered from the Savor Sweet and Unique menu, and got the glazed sugar donut burger with a side of onion rings. 1) The pretzels were over fried, burnt, and hard. The cheese sauce was good, and the mustard was too. No regular ranch, but some other one. 2) The donut burger, was something interesting, a type of slider, so we ordered the 2 GSDB's meal. Then our eyes opened, and we were really surprised at how tasty it was, and probably would order this one again, and again. It was like lunch and dessert rolled into one. Don't knock it until you taste it. 3) The tower of rings were really good. Good size of onions, batter was good too. We'd order these again as well. 4) The man who served us was nice, and friendly. We only had water, no drinks. Over all we'd go back for that donut burger, and try some other items on their list. It seemed clean inside, bathroom was clean. Over all, we'd go back as they had a very interesting menu and a 77 sauce, not sure what that is though. Enjoy!

I decided to try the Peanut butter praline bacon cheeseburger with some fried banana peppers for an appetizer. The banana peppers were quite tasty. They were crisp, flavorful and paired well with the homemade ranch that was provided. The burger was good, but I was disappointed with how it actually came out versus what I thought I would be getting. The peanut butter and the praline crumble is only covering the bacon and other than the cheese, there is nothing else on the burger. I thought the burger was lacking something so I asked for some onions and mayonnaise on the side. After adding that to the burger, it felt complete. The burger was seasoned well and cooked exactly how I like it. The server was helpful and the atmosphere was pleasant. I am giving this restaurant 3 stars because they could have provided a better explanation on the menu of the burger and also because the server was not fully knowledgeable about the various menu items. They also “nickel and dime” you to death. They charged me for onions, mayonnaise and they even charged for hot sauce. I am very disappointed in the fact that the items that should already come on a burger, they charge the customer 50 cents an item.

The breading on the fried pickles was light, crispy, and had a very complementary flavor that was not salty. The same could be said of the fries. They were light and crispy as well and seasoned well. I did not know which burger to get, so I got the trio, which was; the Classic, the Memphis, and the Charleston. The patties had good flavor, but was unfortunately drowned out by the bun which was rather large for the ingredients. The onion tangles and aged cheddar on the Memphis were beautifully complimentary with the smoky bbq. The Charleston was well thought out with the pecan bacon and pimento cheese. The open ceiling is difficult acoustically and with only a few people in the restaurant carried the voices to make for a noisy atmosphere. We had to strain to carry on a conversation. We were there on a Saturday afternoon with the area that we were in being at 20% capacity. The bathrooms are ridiculously difficult to find being hidden in the nether regions of the bar area.

I unfortunately had a terrible experience with this restaurant. A co-worker chose "Burger 77 to go" for her birthday lunch. I placed the pickup order through their website (I went directly to the website through google) which is powered by doordash. We ordered 4 meals. I received a confirmation email from "Burger 77" that the order was received and would be ready for pick up in a certain timeframe. Another co-worker arrived at the restaurant in the pick-up timeframe and was told no order was received. She provided the confirmation email showing the details of the order, an order number, and the burger 77 logo. It included where to pick up the order. They still couldn't locate the order. She also showed them where her card was charged. Still nothing. They did offer to make the food. Since the order was not ready, my coworker left and I told her I would pick up the order. I arrived at the restaurant about 20 minutes later and let the restaurant employee know I was there to pick up the Togo order. She went and grabbed who I would assume is the manager (not sure since she didn't introduce herself) who asked me to walk her through how I placed the order. They took me to their computer, and I showed them step by step how the order was placed. They then told me the order was never received and the order number I received in my confirmation email doesn't match their typical order numbers. They then told me I was "scammed". At this point I was like look it's my co-workers birthday and I just need to pick up this lunch we ordered. They responded that I could pick up the lunch, but I would need to pay again! I told them that I went to their businesses' website and ordered our lunch, so I don't think it is my responsibility as a customer to have to pay twice because there is obviously something wrong with their website and how they receive their orders. They continued to say I was "scammed" and they refused to give me the food without paying again. I could have easily paid again and gotten my food, but because of how extremely rude the staff was, I decided to place an order with cinnamon roll deli next door. They were incredibly nice, and I received my order with no issues. I've dined at burger 77 since it first opened, but I will not return after this terrible experience. Also, just for the record, when I returned to work, I was able to go to my burger 77 order and cancel it. Pretty sure a "scammer" would not let me cancel an order.

**In response to the comment from the restaurant-you probably need to check your website since I literally showed your employee how I ordered from your actual website step by step and chose “doordash” as the takeout option on your website. I find it hard to believe you aren’t affiliated with DoorDash when your employee told me they called DoorDash when our order wasn’t received by you all and DoorDash took down your online ordering thinking it was a “scam”. Bottom line, the customer service today was terrible and this response...

Quick Recap: Perfect for the college crowd or if you are not in a hurry. VERY laid back. When the food was correct, it was very good.

We walked up and saw they had some bar top tables outside but nothing kid friendly or for large groups so we went inside and were immediately greeted by 2 servers. Told them we had a group of 10 and one of their mouths literally dropped. They got the table ready in a few minutes and we were seated.

The server was Hannah and she was very young and nice, but she needs more experience and help from the manager. (More on that later.) She got our drink order, but it took a little longer than it should to get the drinks out. (All of which were soda or water.) She got the order and that's when it went kind of went downhill.

20 minutes later we got one meal. A grilled cheese for my oldest daughter and it was clearly burnt, which was replaced. 5-10 minutes later we got a few more meals and then 5 minutes after that we got the last 2 meals. All together, the 1st and last meal was 15 minutes apart which is not acceptable.

I got the slider trio and it was great. (The Memphis was the best one.) The meat was flavorful and moist and the produce was crisp. The fries were hot and crispy. 3 other people got made to order hamburgers (nice touch with the clip board on the tables) with a flatbread bun which was humongous.

My niece got the pretzels as a meal and they were huge and everyone loved the cheese sauce that it came with.

My wife got the Greek burger medium well and it came out rare and missing the Greek medley and Tzatziki sauce. We asked for another one which did not come out until we were done eating and again missing the Greek medley and Tzatziki sauce. She really did enjoy it, we just wish it came out correctly.

For the most part, the server stayed on top of the drink refills, but clearly they don't have sections in the restaurant and she would disappear at times in case we needed something. We hardly saw other servers around and we definitely never saw a manager at all. When paying she clearly needed practice separating checks. I am not trying to sound mean, but if she had guidance and a helping hand from a manager she would excel and be a tremendous asset to the restaurant. From dropping off the checks to bringing us change for 3 separate checks it took 15 minutes which is an eternity when you have 3 young kids and from being sat to leaving it took 2 hours for a 10 top.

There is potential here.... and good food. Just needs guidance and leadership and a second pair of eyes walking around making sure that the servers don't need help and that the customers are...
