I have come here and had several good experiences with only getting a drink, but after today's experience, I don't think I will return. We ordered simple food, avocado toast topped with a poached egg, and grits with eggs, cheese, and a side of bacon. Stuff that was on the menu. Nothing crazy. We sat and chatted and waited... and waited... and waited. After at least 30 minutes, I asked what was going on and was told the food was being made from scratch, but would be out soon. Another 15 minutes passed and it finally arrived. When I asked what took so long she said the bacon was raw and had to be cooked. Bacon doesn't take that long to cook. She told me they dont have a fryer and had to cook it in the oven. I don't know about you, but I usually cook bacon in a pan. You know, just like the eggs were cooked. My $5 piece of toast had a smear or avocado and a boiled egg sliced on top. I was so disappointed, since I had waited so long, I hoped it would be worth it. There are definitely better coffee shops in Columbia, so I won't be returning here where it takes an hour...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThis is the best place in town to get gluten-free pastries and desserts - these taste as good as anything you've had with gluten, it is not the disappointing"cardboard" type one sometimes finds elsewhere. Although the selection changes day to day, there are usually a few options each of gluten-free, vegan and paleo. They also have brunch options at certain times and days. The owner makes everything herself and does some catering, so if there is something special you are looking for, let her know. Of course they also have espresso style coffee. Parking can be a little challenging and is metered, so bring your quarters and your patience if you are driving, or try the less busy times. The hours have changed from the previous location. so please check the new days and hours so you won't be...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI recently found out I have to be gluten free and dairy free due to an autoimmune disease. I would normally bake my own cake for my bday, but have not practiced with the new ingredients I have to use, so I looked online and found the Local Buzz. I emailed and the owner responded very quickly, answered all my questions, and was overall wonderful. I ordered a small "funfetti-ish" bday cake. I brought it home and just tried it. I wasn't sure what to expect, but am PLEASANTLY surprised!! Its very yummy!! There is definitely a difference in texture from "regular" cake, but it wasn't bad ..just different. I couldn't be more pleased with the whole experience!! I will go back without a...
