An Unforgettable Experience at House of India! I had the pleasure of visiting House of India a few days ago with my family and friends, and I can confidently say this is one of the BEST restaurants for authentic Indian and Nepali cuisine in Columbia, MD.

Food: The flavors are simply incredible! Every dish was perfectly spiced, rich in taste, and freshly prepared. From the aromatic curries to the delicious Nepali momos and flavorful biryanis, every bite was a treat. We also tried their buffet service, which offered a wide variety of dishes, all equally amazing.

Ambiance: The restaurant has a beautiful, welcoming atmosphere. The décor is vibrant and culturally rich, making it the perfect spot to enjoy a meal with loved ones.

Service: The staff went above and beyond to make our experience memorable. They were friendly, attentive, and made us feel truly valued as customers.

I came by to pick up lunch before work. I was passing by so I decided to call in my order for pick up. They quoted me 20 minutes, it actually only took about 10 minutes.

They offer a lunch buffet which is probably a better deal, but I didn't know how many vegetarian options they had, I decided to just order my go to - Baingan Bharta (Eggplant roasted and mashed then sauteed with tomatoes onions and spices) and Vegetable Samosa (Crisp fried turnover, filled with delicious, mildly spiced potatoes & green peas.)

The service was very good. Friendly, quick and pleasant.

I love Samosas in general. I love when the dough is thick, chewy and super crunchy on the outside, and I love when the dough is thin, gooey and light crunch. I do not discriminate. Theirs is the lighter dough that is lightly crispy with a gooey and melt in your mouth dough. Very good. The Baingan Bharta was good - fresh and mild just as I requested. It's not the best I have had, but good.

My entire meal was a little over $20 which I thought was a little much. I don't necessarily think the food was amazing and worth the price. I probably won't be coming, unless it is for trying the buffet. But from the looks of the photos, it looks pretty meat heavy.

The parking is easy. Plenty of room in the lot.

If you are looking into catering from restaurant, please do not choose this place. Their website advertises that they are apt to cater for any event, no matter how large (ours was 100 people). However, they have inadequate staff and supplies to do this.

On their website they DO NOT mention that they don't cater on any type of holiday. I had spoke to them about catering on Father's Day and they agreed and led us on for months until the last minute they said it was "not worth it for them" and "sorry that you've been a regular customer but I have to do what's best for me". I am an advocate for supporting small businesses, especially those with excellent customer service and this restaurant is not it.

If they had handled this situation in a professional manner I wouldn't be disappointed. I've been supporting them for years and they know exactly who I am. However, their rudeness and inability to communicate that they do not have the adequate staff or supplies has led me to stop supporting this business. I did not appreciate them shifting the blame onto us and being rude over the phone.

Stay away from this place, they are not interested in you as a long-time customer, they are interested in monetary value and whatever "is best for them". You have disappointed me,...
