We went to the location in Hattiesburg and the food was awful (we added salt and hot sauce to things to make them better) but the server was attentive.
This location, the food had good flavor and seasoning but the service was very lacking. The server was new and that's well worth some grace! But it seemed though even with it being a very slow night, we couldn't get answers to things (simple menu question) or getting our orders in. We never got the guacamole or tortillas for the fajitas. Also I ordered a Bloody Mary and it was so bitter I couldn't choke it down. Upon arrival the drink was at least an inch below the rim. My husband and I both tried it before and after stirring and neither of us could drink it due to the bitterness so I sent it back. I've never sent a drink back ever. Even if a bloody Mary isn't great, I'll drink it but this was BAD. A lady who claimed to be the manager came by, asked what was wrong we told her and she said they couldn't take it back. She said we should have sent it back before drinking it. That she would not take it off or trade it for another drink. Lol 🤣 I told her clearly, how can we know if it's bad if we don't taste it?!! It was 2" below the rim of a 8" + tall glass. It started out at least 1" below the rim. Bare in mind this was causing quite an altercation! She was loud, rude and insulting! She did say it should have been to the rim and said she would take it off the bill and not replace it. I did want to try another drink but due to the attitude I actually did not trust ordering anything else. Service after this point got even worse. My husband asked the server for a water as id not had anything to drink. I had to ask another staff member for an owner to come over and we informed him of what occured. I don't go out a whole lot. I have to avoid certain foods so having bad service when we do go out is just not acceptable. We won't be going back again. We gave this business a couple chances and would like to put our money somewhere where we are...
Read moreExcellent service!! A clean, neat authentic Mexican restaurant. The appetizer 'table chips and salsa' come with your meal and are superb. The chips are very thin and crispy with a wonderful flavor. The salsa is delicious with just the right bite. We had lunch; 2 Enchiladas, 1 Taco served with mild Mexican Spanish Rice, all with a cold RootBeer. The food makes a beautiful presentation. I like how they serve the taco on a separate plate. The lunch plate was hot which kept the enchiladas warm and tasty. The meat is very finely ground, tender and flavorful but does not taste like Taco Bell. All the food was excellent but the taste is typical, semi-bland Mexican. I jazzed mine up using the rest of the table salsa. The taco has a great shell, lots of tender meat, tons of lettuce that falls over onto the oval dish and stuffed with white cheese. No skimping here. These tacos are loaded. Same with the enchiladas but my wife and I both vote that the enchiladas needed more sauce. The prices are very fair. Two of us had the same meal for $19.75 total including tax and drinks (but excluding the tip). You will want to tip generously because the service is amazing. If you like authentic Mexican food you will thoroughly enjoy Loss Reyes for lunch or dinner! I am sure we will...
Read moreOkay I have to say this is not to bash the restaurant hopefully this was a one-time thing but the enchiladas I ordered, one chicken one beef, and one bean were extremely bland, the cheese sauce was bland, the refried beans and rice were bland. I'm a white dude from Texas and I've ate at hundreds of Mexican restaurants In and around Houston, Austin, Dallas and even the worst one in Texas would out shine Los Reyes. When I think of Mexican food I think of a wide selection of food with bold flavors. Literally nothing on my plate was seasoned. If I had any suggestions I would say have the chef go take a walk down the spice aisle at your nearest meat market. Garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, Mexican oregano, cumin, chili powder all would be a good start. I won't be back at least for a year maybe things will be changed by then but I don't think this was an isolated thing it's more of a 'who's cooking what in the back' thing. When I do go back if the food is the same that will be...
