McDonald's — Restaurant in Columbia

Friday, October 22, 2021... I went through drive through, the ladies were wonderful. So friendly & kind! I wanted tea, I'm newly diabetic, I needed (unsweetened) tea. I received my order & was on my way to my doctor's appointment, it was during being parked & waiting to go in to my doctor's office that I discovered I had SWEET tea! I went back to McDonald's & explained what happened & shared that I'm newly diabetic. I politely asked to make my order right & get an (unsweetened) tea... they were going to charge me for another tea, as it was a wrong order, I asked "Why are you charging me again?", they said, "I'll get a manager." The manager told me to pull around & it would be handled properly, I was assured that it would be (unsweetened) so that's what we did. I pulled across the parking lot with a new tea. Once I parked, I discovered this tea was even sweeter than the first one!!! I ended up going inside & finally getting someone to listen, & she was so helpful, very understanding, & truly sweet, & I finally, after THREE TRIES, got UNSWEETENED TEA!!!

Will I still stop there, will I do business with them again??? ABSOLUTELY!!! In a busy, hectic, noisy world, we're all human, we aren't perfect, sometimes we don't hear what's being said, we are rushing around, but we can ALL use a big dose of compassion & lots of grace!!! Note, had you not been under construction this would be a one-star review but since you're under construction I gave you a little Slack. It took well over half an hour to get one sandwich and a smoothie. When they ask me what size smoothie I wanted I replied whichever one is $2 and she said what size do you want in a very rude tone. So I assumed it was One Price all sizes like regular drinks since they were on sale it appeared by the signage. I was told to pull around to first window and when I got there my total was $8 for a sandwich and a smoothie which I know that the McGriddles are a little more but I thought I was getting a $2 smoothie when I ask the girl she says nope that's what you ordered and that's how much it cost so since the line was already backed up due to slow service I just paid the bill and moved on. No sense in making any more of the other customers wait because you can't get it right. I will not be coming back to this...

I don't know what it is about McDonald's anymore. Any locations. 9 out of 10 times I order ahead using the app or do the drive through. Anymore, it seems no matter what I order, they take my money, send me to the second window, then tell me to pull off while 3-5 other people behind me get their orders. I thought the problem was french fries, so I decided to never order fries again. Well, today's visit was no different, despite only ordering 4 drinks, and again I had to wait... for a drink! Why couldn't they just fill it while I was at the window??After waiting way too long, like 10 minutes, and watching multiple cars pass by with their food, an employee finally came out to ask why we were waiting! She was very apologetic, and I appreciate that, but they had forgotten about us!
