Taste of China Hut — Restaurant in Columbia

I order Chinese food often and never have a problem with me understanding them or them understanding me. However, the woman who took my order at Taste of China Hut on Decker Blvd could barely speak a full word of English, more like sounds. I said no broccoli twice, she thought I wanted double.

When picking up the food, I was charged extra for the broccoli I didn't want. I then pointed out her mistake, which was met with huffs and puffs that she had to redo the order. Strike 1.

I asked for extra sauce on my General's chicken. Due to the sauce being so thin and having way too much of it, it turned into a soup consisting of generals sauce, rice, a small bit of soggy chicken and a ton of cheap vegetables. Strike 2.

The sauce itself tasted more like oil than anything else. I couldn't taste sweet or spicy as General's chicken is supposed to be. Strike 3.

My recommendation is to skip this place. There are 4-5 other Chinese places within throwing distance that you can choose from that are less expensive, have food that tastes good and you get more of it.

FYI - The lunch special was $6.25+tax for just chicken and rice. No drink or egg roll.

Edit - I have to wonder about the previous reviewers of this restaurant. Half of them can't string a sentence together and the other ones don't say anything at all. I suspect the previous reviews for this restaurant are posted by the owners or people...

This is by far the worst Chinese food I have ever had. If I could give zero stars, I would. I ordered 200.00 dollars worth of food for 6 people, for it to be terrible. The orange chicken came with the sauce (cold and solidified) on the side which I had to cook, and thin out for it to be pourable. The Mongolian beef should have been Mongolian vegetables, not beef and tasted horrible. Same for the General Chicken just red in color and full of vegetables not much chicken. The crab ragoons had maybe, maybe a tsp of filling and fried extra hard, definitely not good. The egg foo young gravy was solidified and had a flour taste. The beef egg rolls should have been called raw cabbage egg rolls, because that was really the only thing in it. Overall terrible experience. 0/10 would not recommend. Never again will I order take...

I got food poisoning! When I got my food 05/10/2021, I opened the plate and immediately smelled the shrimp were funky, like they smelled like ammonia. So I took all the shrimp out( and I ordered extra shrimp for an extra 7 bucks to get all thrown away. I tasted the rice and ate all my chicken wings. This was 05/10/2021 Monday. I woke up this morning 05/11/2021 around 4 this morning couldn’t stop throwing up and had extremely bad diarrhea. I ended up at the hospital with being diagnosed with food poisoning and dehydration from throwing up all this contagious food. I would never ever eat from here again! My daughter is also sick.
