Tequila Mexican Restaurant — Restaurant in Columbia

Went to the place for carry out but didn’t order until I got there. Placed order but had trouble with waiter explaining what I wanted even reading it off the menu. Once ordered, had a seat and ordered a beer while I waited. Before I finished the beer the order was ready to go. Seem good being I had a long day and was looking forward to getting home and eating. Once home we went through the order and found it was all wrong in one way or another. I ordered 4 fajita dinners with hot salsa and white cheese. They got 2 orders right but was cold and obvious it wasn’t made fresh. The 2 other orders were some kind of burrito dinners and also cold. We only got 2 things of cheese and all the salsa was mild. Very disheartening! Been going there for years but they have really gone down hill and obviously they don’t care. For the hundred bucks I spent not much got ate and very unhappy. I was staying in Columbia for business and decided to give this restaurant a shot and it did not disappoint. Upon visiting I didn’t really know what I wanted and one of the employees JB picked up on that and was quick to direct me to some of their favorites among customers and himself. The staff was super helpful and consistently cared about how I was doing as a customer. On top of that I had a minute to talk with JB who served me so quickly and helpfully and we quickly hit it off with a conversation about our personal lives. As someone who is often on the road alone coming here to eat made me feel like I was home eating among friends and family. I highly suggest this place for their customer service alone. In regards to food they have a very wide array of traditional Mexican dishes that offer a lot of variety for whatever your pallet may be wanting and just like their customer service it does not disappoint. I visited Tequila Mexican Restaurant for the very first time this evening and was abundantly pleased..

I didn't know what to expect, really, but shared photos convinced me to give them a shot..

I would describe this restaurant as a "hybrid" sit down place.. What do I mean?? So, you enter and order at the counter, and then your food is delivered to your table..

I ordered two, a la carte al pastor street tacos and a margarita.. The street tacos were divine, and despite my late visit, the ingredients (pork, onions, cilantro, and tortillas) were pleasantly fresh and packed with flavor..

The accompanying chips and salsa were a nice touch, and the margarita was quite flavorful..

Every member of the staff I interacted with was wonderfully pleasant, and the generous military discount on the food was a nice touch, too!!

I will certainly revisit this venue the very next time I visit the Columbia area.. A very clean and niche restaurant with great eats and...
