The customers get kinda rowdy and loud in the bar pretty often. I would not recommend sitting at the bar top unless you're a pretty social person,. Which, I am not... But I do like to sit at the bar when I go out. It can get kinda weird and awkward when strangers (that seem like they might be regulars, which I actually like quite a bit) talk to me the entire time in there - Usually about fairly inappropriate topics; but, on the other hand, they gotta be doing something right if they have so many regulars there seemingly at all times. The food (especially their steaks, which, their cooks nail the temp for every time) and service are fantastic. I have zero complaints about the food OR staff. Very good, personable, and attentive bartenders as well. The owner, Nic, will very likely come by and talk to you at some point, regardless of where you're sitting in the restaurant, as he seems to prioritize chatting and checking on every single table, which is actually pretty nice. He's a bit of a jokester, but he seems to be a really genuine kind of guy. It's just the clientele nearly every time I've been there, which is about once a week or so, that kinda ruins it for me, personally. If you're a people person, I would put money on the fact that you will definitely have a great time here.
TLDR: I highly recommend this place but, my one caveat, ONLY sit at the bar top if you generally don't mind meeting new people and talking/hearing about some very interesting, typically borderline offensive topics. Everything else is great....
Read moreI want to start off by saying this used to be my absolute favorite place to eat in Columbus. The majority of the food is still great too. The baked beans are one of my favorite sides anywhere. With that being said... if you are like me, you go for the steak.
I typically get the Frank's Cut of ribeye and it used to come to me perfectly cooked. But the last three consecutive times I have left very disappointed because I received a medium well steak when I asked for medium rare.
To their credit, the first two times the waitresses did offer to have another made. But I declined because I didn't want to anger the person touching my food. This past weekend though all I managed to get was an "Oh... I'm sorry." when I pointed out how done the steak was.
It is worth noting that the manager used to always come out and see how everyone was doing. Very likeable and funny guy that takes care of his customers. He seemed absent the last few times, so maybe I just got unlucky and it was one of those "The boss isn't around, so I'm not going to put much effort in." situations.
Regardless, I guess I'll stick to the N'awlin's Pasta Bowl from now on.
UPDATE: The owner reached out to me and made things right. I've since been back and the service was great and the steak came out as requested....
Read moreThe food is so good here! This place is an italian steak house with fun appetizers like italian nachos. For the quality and perfect grilling and prep this place can't be beat for the price. If you want a perfect steak ribs chicken of fish there is no better place! If you aren't in the mood for a giant meal they also have burgers and sandwiches. Try the italian salad the dressing is drinkable. Also they have pasta dishes and they make fresh noodles there! If you have kids get the kids pasta with homemade noodles and fresh marinara or alfredo. I also love a rare tuna steak. There is something on the menu for every pne but the menu isn't over crowded with ridiculousness. It's our favorite place to eat out. And if it's not perfect they want to make it right and they will do it happily. One of the owners is almost always there checking on the tables. So the service is outstanding. All the front of house people work together happily like a well oiled machine. Become a regular and you will feel like you are part of the family. Throw in a full bar and you have perfection. Going somewhere else is usually a let down. We tend to wish we were at Amazing Joes Friends don't let friends eat at chain...
