I have never done a review online for a business, but I just can't keep paying my money for food & service, when it isn't improving at all! Captain D's isn't the only place where we have had bad experiences lately. Actually, I have always enjoyed the food at Captain D's! However, the quality of the food, & definitely the service, we experienced today was horrible! First, when I pulled up to the ordering speaker, I asked if they had lobster bisque BEFORE I ordered, & they said yes. Then half-way through my order, the lady on the speaker asked if I wanted something else bc their lobster bisque was frozen! Didn't I ask them specifically before I started my order?!?! Secondly, if it's frozen, couldn't you just microwave it?! Awfully fresh-made, huh?! That's all my son wanted, which is why we stopped here...soup! So, I ordered something else & not once did they apologize for not having the soup (that's advertised in huge letters on top of the ordering speaker)! She never repeated my order either. Then I had to ask for a receipt & she finally points out that it is in the bottom of the bag under the food. I used a debit card & they usually give me the receipt when they return my card...but not today. Then I had to ask her three times for honey mustard before I pulled off. They usually ask if you need any sauce or anything else. She didn't smile, she didn't say thank you, she didn't apologize for not having the soup, OR for our long wait time. She was emotionless! I like captain D's, but the food quality and service has definitely gone down this past year. We won't be back for awhile😢 My prayer is that they'll read this evaluation & try to fix...

I was famished, you see, and the Captain D’s sign appeared before me like manna in the desert. The lady in the drive thru helped me find the best option for my tired soul - 2 piece beer battered fish with fries and cole slaw. With the voice of an angel she added “Would you like a large sweet tea with that” “Yes, honey, I do but make it half and half”. Just in the nick of time she handed me my food and drink, kindly letting me know my tartar sauce, malt vinegar, and straw were in the bag. Our exchange was brief but meaningful.
When I opened the container, a warm gush of vaporized fryer oil and crispy goodness collided with my eager face - I knew this meal was going to be delectable. I couldn’t wait, I had to pull over and coat my fish with vinegar, dip it in tartar, and have it meet my parched lips. Angels and choirs above sung loudly as I took my first bite - heavenly. God himself smiled down as I ate each fry, hush puppy, and scoops of cole slaw. The half half tea comforted my soul, as if it was saying “my child, you will no longer hunger or thirst anymore”. In a moment, I was satisfied with tears of joy flowing down my face. This moment will never be forgotten.
Chick-Fil-A may be God’s chicken, but Captain D’s is...
Read moreThe drive thru takes forever. Even in comparison to other locations of the same brand. Waited over 25 minutes in the drive thru from ordering to driving off, and they were not busy at all. All the reviews here have for years mentioned the slowness of this location. Why corporate doesn't send a trainer from another location to show them how to speed it up is beyond me. After the crazy long wait, got home with my food, and the order was wrong. What they did give me was...
