Chicago Fish and Chicken — Restaurant in Columbus

Chicago fish and chicken is a little "hole in the wall" type place. But if you don't try it, you are really missing out. The food is amazing fresh. Instead of pressed "fish-like" food you get actually filets cut straight from the source. The breading is great and it is served nice and hot. I haven't tried the chicken yet, that will be next time. One thing that I was bummed about is that the fries are very bland. They just don't have any flavor and are kind of greasy. I must give props to whoever decided to put the bread slices in the pan to catch the grease from the fish. Over the place is heads and tails above the chain places. This is a must try if your in the area. EDIT: I have since tried the chicken and it was even better than the fish. Also, the fries might have been a one off issue, because this time the fries were seasoned perfectly and absolutely delicious. The staff is also extremely kind. Do not miss a chance to eat here. Get chicken tenders (white breast meat) and several sauces on the side and try them all. You will not be disappointed, unless you are one of those vegan types. 😜 To the restaurant, keep up the amazing food. Changing my rating to 5. If I could give this fast food place a negative Zero I would... gladly!!! Read my review carefully this was a situation you needed to be there in person and see with your own eyes. The owner was wiping sweat from his forehead with his ungloved hand then touched raw fish to fry without washing his hands. He then moved on to wipe his nose again... no soap and water contact. Once the fish was out of the fryer, he picked them up with his ungloved hand... again! Then wiped the excess grease on his pants. The cashier I consulted with about the matter because I assumed he had a sane brain. He gave me a smug grin, stood up, picked his nose then opened a container of fries from a phone order and started eating a few of them. My family left the entire $27 order at the counter!!!! Then we drove to McDonald's!!!! Not kidding. It was either the golden arches or spraying our food with lysol! Hope this...

The sweetest staff so friendly. However we asked for mild sauce as we were told they have Chicago mild sauce and the wings were in buffalo but they managed to give us 4 sides of the actual Chicago mild sauce. Not sure how you give out 2 diff mild sauces when I only said mild and was never asked which one. Then when I called they were polite and offered to remake it and have me return the food but to our surprise the food was our old food refried and drenched in the correct Chicago mild sauce. However we can still taste the buffalo sauce ! When you don’t clarify which mild sauce it’s on you as the business to remake the food fresh not reheat the same food and try to cover up the flavor. I recommend clarifying with your guest which mild sauce they would like Chicago style or regular buffalo before assuming...
