I have lived across the street from this place for over 2 years now and have decided to write another review (I noticed that my previous review from last year has magically disappeared). The first few times I went here I was by myself during random weekday evenings. I sat at the bar and had food and/or drinks. The service was hit and miss really but didn't deter me from returning. As I started frequenting the place - weekends included - I started to get the true feel of overall service. Other than Miranda (not sure she still works there or not), it is difficult to get the attention of anybody on the staff. There are several older regulars (age 50+) that sit near the glass cooler and get 95% of the attention and service no matter how busy it gets. This got old quick for me and my visits became less frequent. The food has always been good - except for the extremely awful fries - but the service is still terrible, as I've visited a few times in the past month. The final nail in the coffin, though, was the wings I ordered the other day. It used to be "a pound", which was typically 12 wings per order. I placed 2 orders to go and was given 2 boxes with 7 of the same-sized wings as always in each. Please note that the price hasn't changed. This tells me that maybe all the negative talk about their service has finally affected their bottom dollar and they're making cuts on product... My opinion is this: if you haven't been here and are just looking for something different, fine, check it out. The food is good and if you order a water or soft drink, the cup is very large and will last you a while - so the slow service will be more tolerable. As for food, everything is (was?) good except for the fries. If it's a Friday or Saturday night, be weary that the crowd can get rowdy and you may see a police car or two. There are more than enough TVs to watch a variety of sports. There are even TVs in the booths themselves which is a nice touch. You can take your kids here to eat but I think they understandably have to be out by a certain time. There is an outdoor patio which is located at the entrance, so you can't miss it. If you're in a hurry, this is not the place to go....
Read moreIf I could give zero stars I would. I went there for breakfast and ordered eggs and bacon. After watching 5-10 guests be served and waiting 50 minutes I finally asked the waitress about my food who was rude and walked away. When my food came out 10 minutes later I asked to speak to the manager (LIBBY) who came over yelling in front of the other guess and asked what was she supposed to? Then she preceded to say that this was hard for her because TWO years ago I used to come and order curbside and never tip and throw my ketchup packets on the ground. Funny thing is I don’t even eat ketchup so clearly she has me confused with someone else. There are several bartenders (young pretty girl with the two toned hair color and several guys) there (I usually go in the evening) that can attest to the fact that I ALWAYS tip at least 20% every time I go into that establishment including last night. I don’t know who this Libby chick is thinking of but it’s definitely not me. I HATE ketchup. I feel as though I was discriminated against and racially profiled, humiliated demeaned and embarrassed in front of the other patrons all because they were an hour late and getting out my food. When I called back up to the establishment to ask for the managers name so that I could report her she began yelling and hung up the phone on me. I am absolutely disgusted with her service and would like to hear from the owner directly. Even the lady next to me said the female bar tenders are rude and that Libby’s response was disgusting and unprofessional. And to top it off she began discussing me with some fellow patrons as I was leaving. Shame on you Chubby’s for having an employee at that level who is so unprofessional and...
Read moreThere's something about it you just don't want to like.... But when you think about, there really is nothing bad about it.
First off it's a bar. That's told by the technically 2 page menu in which one page is nothing but beer and drink specials. It has a one page menu, and basically its all cheap, and all amazing.
We drove by this place actually on our way to another establishment when my sister commented she wanted to try it sometime as there were always cars in the parking lot. So a U-turn we made, and it was well worth it. We got a booth in its own little nook, which is actually nice. we fit 6 of us in there comfortably. The "roof" above us kept our conversation between us, and kept a lot of the ambient noise out. We had our own personal tv in the booth to watch a game. Our waitress even brought us the remote when we got tired of it and asked her to change it.
The food was amazing and in incredibly generous portions. The burgers were big. The pretzel bites were fantastic!!! as well as the fried pickles. You really can't go wrong with anything on this menu. The waitress even brought us shots if we requested them, we never once had to go to the bar. The patio outside looks like it'd be really nice in the warmer months, although they did have 2 space heaters going outside. Spacious and has its own platforms off the main walkway for more tables. For a bar (which it is first and foremost) it's really nice! A pool table, a stage, a huge bar, plenty of seating, and the bonus is its a tiny pub type restaurant as well!! It's not party central, but it's not dull and boring either. It'd be a great place to hang out with friends...
