Diamonds Ice Cream — Restaurant in Columbus

I've been wanting to try this place for a while but I'm never in that area of town. I will be making the drive again soon with a cooler and ice packs to take some Popsicles home with me! I had some prickly pear sorbet that was SO refreshing and a scoop of coffee & dark chocolate ice cream. Both were amazing. Staff were friendly and answered any questions. They were patient as we all took forever to narrow it down! The reason I had to take a couple stars off is because the bathroom was gross. It had no seat on the toilet, and there was no soap or paper towels. A staff person used it before me, so I can only hope she washed her hands somewhere else before returning to work! The servers did wear gloves, but there's no replacement for proper handwashing. We're talking about food safety and health here- critical stuff. I'll try it again without using the restroom. I will look in there, though, and if it isn't clean and stocked next time, I won't return again. I...

What can I say that hasn't already been said about this place. Incredible, creamy ice cream at good prices. Those same ice creams are also found in bar form (paletas) for those who want a treat on the go.

First of all, great service. You are encouraged to try samples. Everything is delicious. Food portion is generous. When selecting a paleta there are two types. Milk paletas and ice palentas. The milk are basically ice cream on a stick. The ice are closer to popsicles. If you are not sure which type of bar is which, ask. Staff is very friendly and eager to help.

In addition there are frozen bananas, ice cream sandwiches, aqua frescas (drinks made with fresh fruit), candy from Mexico, and some savory items from the food bar. I have only had the ice cream, paletas, and ice cream sandwiches (yum, yum, and yum). I next want to try an aqua fresca.

They do have daily specials Monday through Friday. If you are in the area, definitely...

I've thought about my visit last Saturday afternoon. I didn't want to review until I really processed my experience.

A. I sampled 2 of their ice creams and thought both were good enough B. I ordered a 2 scoop bowl. The first couple of bites were ok with taste and texture. Eggnog and a pine nut with something. C. I got nasty diarrhea and a relentless stomach ache a sorry while later. D. There were 4 in our party that visited. One female went to the restroom and took a picture of fecal matter on the wall. E. The young guy behind the counter that scooped for us said everything was homemade. Probably. F. Large eat-in area. Tables were dirty and trash on floor needed picked up. G. They have multiple areas of various product lines. I only had ice cream so the others might be better.
