This was my first time eating here, so I ordered several menu items. I ordered the #3 Bandeja Paisa, carnitas nachos, empanadas, tamales, Shrimp taco Supreme and chorizo taco supreme. The Carnitas nachos was by far the best of everything that I ordered, which is alarming because it literally causes for the least amount of skill or time to be put into it. Next, we have the empanadas which were stuffed with an appropriate amount of filling and fried perfectly, however someone forgot to put the salt in the empanada pastry and the filling which was bland as can be and was not satisfying even in the least. Next, we have the tamales which was prepared with way too much masa to filling ratio. I felt like I was just eating nothing but overly dense steamed masa and much like the empanadas had zero flavor to it whatsoever. And lastly, the shrimp and chorizo taco supreme. Fire starters, I got two chorizo taco Supremes instead of one shrimp and one chorizo so, there’s an issue right there of attention to detail. Along with that there was nothing spectacular about this taco. I mean, the presentation was misleading because it looked like a great taco but when I ate it, the chorizo was dry. It was not a good quality chorizo whatsoever. Just tasted like I was eating finely ground sausage with none of the spice mix that you expect in chorizo very disappointing. A piece of advice to this food truck, salt is not the enemy of great food. Furthermore, don’t put items on your menu that you do not have a qualified cook to prepare. It’s disappointing to...
Read moreGot a great veggie burrito here. After I ordered noticed that they had a veggie arepa plate. Maybe next time? I do have to say this was literally one of the better burritos I've had east of the Mississippi. Which is saying a lot for how bad a lot of Taquerias out east are! They give you a red and green salsa (as it should be). The tortilla was a bit crispy as if they fried it or put it in a panini press. But not greasy as is so often the case. Burrito was what I'd call a medium size. I am more used to larger burritos from places in the SF Bay Area like El Farolito. But quantity and quality are not the same. Also the server was super pretty.
BTW this is a taco truck with maybe 2 chairs....
Read moreGrowing up around many Hispanic and central american people you learn to love the food from their culture. Having a Venezuelan exchange student who's mother made the best Arepas it's hard to say no to this place. They have several people that work there and they are just super sweet and nice. Most of them have a hard time speaking english but they know the basics. The food is amazing. I usually get the Arepa, Quesadilla, and the carne asada tacos. They have vegetarian options that are just as great. It's not it the best location but they make it work. They also only take cash. For a quick cheap meal that tastes...
