I understand the position of the food industry and that we are technically in quarantine but considering they are trying to retain customers during this time, the food quality should probably at least try to stay the same... A friend and I each ordered 4 tacos to go yesterday evening, the person over the phone was great and we were greeted very kindly when picking up our orders; but the food ... was something else to put it nicely. I ordered 3 fish tacos and 1 Nashville hot chicken taco. The 3 fish ones we fine(not as great as usual but I’m not going to complain considering everything going on) but my Nashville taco consisted of 1 very small plain chicken finger(?) and a chunk of either grilled pork or chicken. I want to give them the benefit of the doubt with the meat type, but am pretty positive it was a chunk of carnitas... covered in slaw and pickles. Not a sprinkle or dash of the Hot Nashville seasoning anywhere. My friend ordered 4 tacos; 2 tinga chicken, a farmers market, and a Nashville hot chicken as well. Her farmers market and Nashville taco were fine (or at least looked like how they were supposed to), but her chicken tinga was very large chunks (almost strip like) pieces of chicken tossed very lightly in the tinga sauce.. pretty sure it’s supposed to be shredded with a decent amount of saucyness. I would have rather they told us they were out of what we ordered, but I guess that also didn’t make sense because of our differences in the Nashville taco quality ..... We had half a mind to go take them back to show them what was served to us, considering we did tip, but we were too lazy make the trek back since we had gotten them at their taco Tuesday price (not worth the walk or drive). We are very grateful that Local is still open for service, but considering how excited we were for these tacos and what we got instead ... I think we are set on tacos until the end...

We go to local cantina for the soccer game today and we were all excited to be there with all of our friends, one of which is visiting from Texas and today was her last day. Fast forward, we get our food, one of our vegetarian friends are half way into eating their meal, and there is meat in it! okay.. mistakes happen, she’s turned off and sends the food back, doesn’t complain just states she doesn’t want anything remade. Our SECOND vegetarian friend is almost DONE eating her bowl (important because all the ingredients were kinda blended in together) and she finally noticed that the Smokey taste she was tasting was not any flavoring, it was meat, AGAIN. we get little to no apologies for this mistake. Our other friend orders tacos in which she was told was out of stock, so she orders something else, and they bring her out both set of tacos including the ones they said they didn’t have? The rest of our food comes out and is cold as HELL. Meanwhile we don’t want to complain because we know it’s busy and who wants to be that person. We didn’t want to take it out on our server BUT her service was terrible as well. All of our checks were mixed up, laid them down on the table and expected us to pick them out and figure out whose was whose. Took 15-20 mins for anything, anytime we asked. So we just paid and left instead of waiting around for all mistakes to be fixed. A manager was never sent over to apologize, deescalate the issue, nothing. This is so terrible!! Do...
Read moreI ate a delicious "middle-afternoon" meal [neither lunch nor supper] earlier today [8-4-2022] at Local Cantina Grandview.
I had eaten yesterday [8-3-2022] at Local Cantina Brewery District [at 743 S. High St.]; I then decided, this afternoon, that I would eat -- for two days in a row -- at a Local Cantina restaurant [though at a different restaurant each day].
I ordered and ate my traditional "Plain Jane Cheese" quesadilla and "Street Corn."
My "Street Corn" had been slightly different from the "Street Corn" that I had eaten yesterday [at Local Cantina Brewery District] but had been just as delicious. The only change that I had noticed had been that my "Street Corn" had cost $7.00 rather than $6.00. My server told me that Local Cantina is in the middle of a "menu change" but that not all Local Cantina restaurants will be changing menus at the same time.
My server later told me that Local Cantina Grandview is the first location of Local Cantina that had opened. I would define that location as a "stealth" Local Cantina because they do not have the familiar large orange awning in front of their building that I have seen at two of their other locations. They are immediately west of Aladdin's Eatery Grandview but are far less visible than Aladdin's Eatery Grandview.
The wall decorations at Local Cantina Grandview are as varied and interesting as they are at their several other locations.
If you are looking for a delicious meal at a location that has many interesting wall decorations, I strongly recommend Local...
