Update: Out running some errands and decided to hit up Yats Grandview. I THOUGHT it was Abby working BUT it was actually Kat working today, she has been working there 6-7 years. I ordered a half Chicken Maque Choux and half Spinach and Mushroom Etouffee. OMG!!! The Chicken Maque Choux has some nice tender chicken and corn with a smooth creamy sauce. It's to die for. The other half was a creamy vegetarian roux based sauce with mushrooms and spinach blended with green curry and a blend of other spices. And of course I had to have a double order of the buttered bread. Yummy!!! Another plus this time was meeting another one of their team Kat, she been with them for 6-7 years. Another one of the great employees that Jason/Abbey have turned out. If you get a chance you have to stop in and taste some really phenomenal tasting food.
Decided I was going to hit up a place that I had been to their Food Truck. I was met by Eric working the cash register. I ordered the Maque Choux and Red Beans and Rice with Smoked Sausage. I also ordered several bread servings. The red beans and sausage were flavored perfectly over the rice. Super flavorful. The Maque Choux was so creamy and delicious with the mixture of corn and chicken. Definitely to die for. The bread is so off the chart, filled with flavor. I could eat a whole loaf in a heartbeat. Also had time to talk with Collin who works in the kitchen. But the person who exudes the meaning of hospitality was Abbey the owners daughter who runs prep and the front of the house. I had met her several years ago when she was working with her dad (Jason) on the Food Truck. If you want to taste some flavorful food, you need to check out Yats in Grandview. You won’t be...
Read moreWell, I gotta be honest, I literally drive 100 miles to come here and get food for my family of 4. Not as often as I would line for sure. Chili cheese etouffe with crawfish has to be the family favorite. Followed closely by B & B (not because it's vegetarian, but because it is delicious!), classic red beans and rice with sausage, then chicken maque shue (mock shoe). The spinach and muchroom, drunken chicken, and white chicken chili are an acquired taste. Extra bread, which is toasted, buttered and seasoned is a must. All served over white rice, except for the chili. Ethan? helped me out this particular day and was awesome! Check website as menu does change. You can order ahead and local delivery is available through door dash. Parking on street and lot across the street is available until 5pm. This is the only Ohio location I know of. Indy has several locations throughout the city. If you enjoy great creole for an affordable price,...
Read moreI love Yats for their portion sizes, tastes, and price! You get a lot of flavor for not a lot of bucks. You can order a full size of a dish, or a half size, or do half and half of two entrees. When you come, check in for extra garlic bread, I love it! I recommend their Drunken Chicken and Chicken Maque Choux! My friends also like their Chili Cheese with Crawfish. You can also ask to sample any of their dishes. They're all flavorful, bold, and delicious. They have an assortment of hot sauces you can try too. Staff is very friendly and they were accommodating! There's plenty of room inside for a small group, but parking can be limited with street parking and private parking. I recommend coming here for a bit for lunch, casual dinner, or if you're craving Cajun/Creole food. By the way, there's no WiFi here! There are plenty of other shops and businesses around this restaurant that you can walk around to, it's a...
