Four years ago I left the following review ... When you're in the mood for good Tex-Mex food, this is the place to go. Very good service usually. Friday and Saturday night and Sunday's lunch, you can expect to wait for 20 minutes for a table. So get there early. I have tried everything on the menu, but everything I have tried, has not left me disappointed. My favorite is the Pollo Del Mar (grilled chicken breast smothered in a cream sauce with shrimp and grilled onions). There is also complimentary ice cream cones (vanilla, chocolate, or both) on your way out.
Our recent experience shows how much this restaurant has changed and apparently the owner does not care. My family and I were there on Friday May 28, 2021 and it was not a pleasant experience. We attended my grandson's graduation and he wanted to eat at Cabos to celebrate. We went for lunch, were seated at a table and ordered by 11:15 ... Several others came in and their meals were brought to their tables, and ours were not. Our waiter was avoiding our table, so we asked one of the men refilling our drinks to have the waiter come over. When he did he was apologizing right away. He said the kitchen was backed up because their head chef wasn't there that day (that excuse didn't pertain to the other people who were eating what they'd ordered). By this time it was 5 after noon. My husband told him that if we didn't have our meal in 5 minutes we were leaving. The 5 minutes came, still no meal, we started packing up babies and the waiter came back with the fries we'd ordered for one of our grandsons. The fries were gray, and I could tell they'd been under a heat lamp for quite a while. They were cold to the touch and greasy. The waiter said it would be ANOTHER 5 minutes to get our meal. The owner was there. He had been walking around, and my daughter noticed him talking to our waiter. Apparently he wasn't concerned about us at all. We don't...
Read moreI had one of the worst dining experiences at this restaurant , and it all started with something as simple as asking for the Wi-Fi password. In this day and age, having access to Wi-Fi at a restaurant is pretty standard, yet this place either doesn’t care or just doesn’t get it.
Upon arrival, I politely asked for the Wi-Fi passcode after ordering. The server gave me a blank stare and said, “We don’t give that out.” No explanation, no alternative, just a dismissive tone. I tried to explain that I needed it for work, but the staff couldn’t have cared less. It’s shocking that a place would be so indifferent to something so basic and essential.
Even worse, the attitude of the staff was unbelievably rude. They acted like my request was a huge inconvenience. The lack of customer service skills was astonishing. The server was inattentive, and I had to flag them down multiple times just to get basic items like utensils and water. It felt like they were going out of their way to ignore me.
If they can’t even provide something as simple as Wi-Fi, I can’t imagine they care about the quality of their food or service. The overall experience left a bitter taste in my mouth—literally and figuratively. I’ll never be returning, and I highly recommend avoiding this place if you value decent service or basic respect...
Read moreWant to start off by saying we wanted to go to Nancy's Steakhouse on July 4th, but they were closed. So we picked Los Cabos instead because they are owned by the same people. Had a 20 minute wait. I wouldn't have minded except when we sat at the bar to have pre-dinner cocktails, there wasn't a bartender on staff. We finally sit down and order our drinks. My wife had the house margarita, and I had the Hecho en Mexico. They were nothing to write home about considering they were $8 and $11 respectively. Ordered the guacamole salad appetizer which was large but basic. I had the chile relleno.... It wasn't egg battered and deep fried AT ALL!!! It was a stuffed steamed pepper, and that annoyed me a lot. The sides were basic, lacking the robust flavor I expected from them. My wife had the tamale plate. She said the tamales weren't "made with love". We had the same sides. Got the check and while we were trying our best to finish the not so good cocktails, they kept low key trying to rush us out!!! I'm sorry but if this is what Nancy's is like now, I won't eat at either again. This was our anniversary dinner. It was so subpar, I told my wife I owe her another dinner. Please just let this be...
