Worst fast-food drive-thru AND inside counter experience EVER! Since the start of the pandemic shutdown, all businesses are struggling to hire & keep employees. No one wants to work anymore, so I try to keep that in mind & not hold it against the store or restaurant employees when they get overwhelmed. That'll just make a bad situation worse. However, there were several visible employees during this particular visit, some of which were standing around and/or moving at a snail's pace during a busy time, with bliners on and no sense of urgency. After paying $22.10, I asked 2 people, 3 different times, to confirm the items in the bag were correct, only to get all the way home & discover the entire order was wrong; half of the sandwiches were missing entirely, and the ones that I DID get were completely wrong. I tried to call the restaurant 3× with no answer, drove all the way back (8 miles round-trip with astronomical gas prices + 45 minutes wasted) and was completely ignored by the entire staff while standing at the counter, literally holding the bag. After waiting 5 minutes & feeling invisible while watching several customers get service that came in AFTER me, I finally had to shout to employees behind the counter to get their attention and ask for a manager. I calmly explained the order issues, and the manager said it was no problem, assured me that she could fix the order (no apology, BTW) then disappeared behind the counter. I waited another 15 minutes, still being ignored by all visible staff, and even tried 2 more times to call the restaurant while I was literally standing right there; still no answer, no acknowledgement. Finally, I stopped an employee walking past me after he finished sweeping the dining room floor, and asked him to please get the manager - again! He did, and about another 5 minutes later, she reappeared with a bag of fresh sandwiches & hot fries, but she immediately ran off without waiting for me to check the order. Sure enough, after almost an hour had passed since I first ordered this food, she hadn't replaced the apple pies that were now cold. Again, I stopped another employee & requested the manager return, and she came back in about a minute. She asked "What's wrong now?" and I asked her to replace the cold pies. She said, "We're out of apple". I asked, "What do you have?", and she walked away as she shouted to another employee, "Do we have any pumpkin pies left?". No reply heard from anyone, and the manager has disappeared yet AGAIN, so I finally just snatched the bags off the counter and said "For God's sake, just forget it!" as I stormed out. By that time, an entire HOUR had passed since the time I first ordered at the drive-thru. No apology or compensation offered for the wasted time, gas, and disgraceful service; no courtesy whatsoever. And both of those "fresh" sandwiches were still STONE COLD because she took so damn long getting them. A word of advice for anyone going to this location: NEVER drive away from the window until you have PERSONALLY checked every single item in the bag! Even if an employee asks you to "move your car forward" so they can screw more waiting customers behind you, JUST SAY NO! If the line gets backed up, too bad; I no longer care. At $22.10 for a fast food meal, is it too much to ask that I at least get what I ordered and already paid for? Hopefully, if enough people consistently hold them up and accountable, they may actually do their jobs and try a little harder to get it right in the first place. Seriously, worst...
Read moreEdit: 5 years later: changing my review from 1 to 5 stars because of a wonderful employee named Lucy and would like to make sure she's recognized. My order was fast and accurate during a rush and was actually a little well done and had extra onions which was nice. It even tasted better than normal. Lucy was extremely nice and friendly as well I was impressed with how quick and thorough she was. She also seems to be loyal as I believe I saw her there 6 months ago or so the same pleasant interaction. I just wanted to make sure she was recognized, and it's nice that the business finally feels like one you can go to and not dead the experience, will definitely be coming back!
Edit 4 years later: came to the drive-thru at 5:00 p.m. on 7/31/21 had to repeat my order three times, she finally says you don't want sauce or anything just let us some pickle? And I say yes. okay that's fine It's hard to hear through the speakers sometimes, I get up to the window and notice the receipt is wrong I say excuse me sir three times to the guy taking change he doesn't hear me so I go up to the food window, tell the girl that the Big Mac I ordered is to have lettuce and pickle only and instead is no pickle no lettuce and I hear her tell the girl making them behind him that he ordered pickle and lettuce only and I hear her reply well he's going to have to wait then in that snarky voice you come across so often, I then wait nearly 5 minutes to get my new Big Mac with lettuce and pickle only, except this time it has sauce and cheese on it. I've never worked in the fast food industry but I imagine there's a reason that the people that do, do. I've met many good people that work here but this McDonald's draws all of the lazies that live around it it seems.
Also they charged me for two fries instead of the one I ordered.
Edit: 3 years later. Ordered a burger at 1 am. Been in the drive through over 20 minutes. Over 8 cars that I can see. This is pathetic.
Gave me the wrong burger. Asked if they were gonna throw the first one away, she said yes, I asked if instead of throwing it away I could give it to my dog, (wasting food is pointless) and instead she turned around and ignored me and threw the perfectly good food away. I waited over 20 minutes in line at 1 am and even though their shamrock shake came out a few weeks ago, of course the ice cream machine was down!!! This location is truly horrible I've only met one or two workers who acted like they cared and the rest don't even say hi and act very rude. Of course after someone honked a bunch all the cars were through the line in minutes! The guy in front of me ordered just a coffee!? And I heard him...
Read moreRead moreI drive to this location even though it's further because the south Hamilton location will mess up your order 50% of the time and then get annoyed when you ask them to fix it. Today this location actually messed up my order as well but, when fixing it, they made me a fresh McChicken (the chicken at McDonald's seems like it's never fresh). The changes to the burgers now means that you get no onions on your burgers but instead, they cook your meat in the onion, similar to how white castle does their sliders. The problem is that for people who actually hate onion, there is going to be an onion flavor to your meat now, and for those who love onion, there won't actually be any onion in which to bite. So apparently, if you actually want even a small amount of onions on your burger you will have to order extra onion. The workers were all super polite, joking with eachother while working, smiling- just the environment you like to see when you walk in somewhere, rather than being made to feel like you are the biggest burden in the world for ordering a sweet tea. One of the employees even brought her twin toddlers in for lunch today on her day off. They were adorable and that speaks volumes about this place if employees are not hating work so much they avoid it at all costs on a day off. All adults at some point have had a job we hated that much. I just bring that up to say how nice everyone seemed and that they didn't act like their job makes them completely miserable. Instead of making them feel like they had to remake my whole sandwhich i simply asked for some onions on the side that i could throw on the burger as i dont think mcdonalds tastes the same without their little dehydrated onions. The sandwhich maker who ended up grabbing them gave me the dirtiest look ever when she realized I was listening to/watching her ask why the ** someone needs any d@mn onions. They then gave me a 4-piece chicken nuggets box that is packed to the top in dehydrated onions. I'm not sure what the sandwhich maker thought I was trying to do with them but I can only imagine that with this many, she is expecting me to survive on minced onions for the next week. Anyway ever since covid shut so many places down, I think it has become more and more rare to walk into any food-service establishment and see all the employees working this well together and being so positive to customers. (obviously these days everywhere is understaffed so seeing a place with employees is amazing on its own) and so I felt I needed to take the time give them a positive review because people only ever take time to review negative experiences. Thanks...
