North City Tavern — Restaurant in Columbus

Horrible experience here!! RED FLAGGING 🚩this business due to the absolute worst customer service I’ve ever had at a “hole in the wall” bar. The bartender was incompetent had no idea what was going on and the crowd was a bunch of old drunks that sit around all day drinking looking for fights! They tried to yell at me because I was on the phone 📞 with someone I worked with and was barely even talking and they tried to scream and yell at me for “being on the phone” do yourself a huge favor and AVOID THIS PLACE LIKE THE PLAGUE!!!! Much better bars with good bartenders and better crowds right around the corner…. This was my first time here cause I just moved across the street but I will NEVER go back and will make sure all my friends and my company knows to stay away from this place. I’ve never been to a bar where they want to yell at you for being on the phone quietly!!! I guess when you go here you have to leave your phone in the car…. There was other people on the phone as well who they were trying to harass as well…. Everyone left and even the other girl who was there with me couldn’t believe how bad the crowds were…. Like I said a bunch of old drunks who day drink all day looking for fights hangout here …. Please do yourself a favor and go right up the street to the better bars!!! If you are looking to get into a fight with someone who is drunk and has a beer belly then this bar is for...

My husband and I visited this location for the first time on 6/7/2023. We chose a table instead of sitting at the bar. Our server, Sara, was very friendly. We noticed that she was the only person working when we came in, for the FOH. She was bartending, plus waiting on the tables in the tavern and outside on the patio. She brought our drinks and took our order in a timely manner. Our food was slow to come out. My sandwich came out, but my husband's food was about 20 minutes behind mine. He ordered wings and I had ordered the Buffalo chicken sandwich. Two more FOH employees came in but were not helping. They were simply hanging around the bar, on their phones, chit chatting with regular customers. Sara had to ask them to help out. I did order the Key Lime Shot and it was amazing! Sara had informed me that it was her first time making it, and I ordered another and it was just as good. The location is in serious need of a good cleaning and updates...

This is a well decorated, cool looking spot and seems fairly new. Unfortunately, it is not worth your time or money. We went for dinner and drinks on a Saturday night and sat on the patio. The owner was actually there and it was still among the worst experiences I've had in Columbus. When we walked in, we were rudely greeted by an obnoxious regular at the bar, then when we figured out how seating worked, we were told that multiple items on the menu were out (including the wings advertised on their sign). The service was slow, the food was ok at best and it took 15 minutes for us to get our check after requesting. The one person working was trying his best to serve the 4 people at the bar and us on the patio but the owner left him hanging by himself.
