I have never written a review, bad or good, but, today I was highly disappointed. I first stopped at chipotle (it is my go to) after working 2 different jobs today which totalled 16 hours. But, they were closed early due to only online ordering. So I stopped at the Penn Station which was right next door. (this is the bethel location). I stopped in there at 9:50pm and they informed me they already turned off the grill and were no longer serving customers. I understand that they probably also have had a long day and want to go home but you cannot refuse customers before the time that you close especially if you haven't locked the doors yet. It wasn't like I came in right at 10. They still had 10 minutes and could have made me something. I know it was last minute and I apologize but that gives them no right still. I don't close the doors early at my job just because I'm tired and want to go home. Looks terrible for the company. I'm very disappointed and won't be back which is unfortunate because this was my first time going to a Penn station and I was excited to try something new since I was very hungry and tired. Oh and I forgot to mention the fact that the store was very dirty despite the fact that they were refusing service before closing time and when I walked up all they were doing was standing in a little group and talking. So if you are going to refuse service before close then at least be doing something other than standing around talking. Oh and despite being disappointed I still told them "okay and have a good night" and they said...
Read moreI hate to write a bad review on Penn Station because it's usually really good at other locations, but this location has an employee issue. As I was paying, the lady had just come back from either the bathroom or out back and it was a strong pot oder.... Without saying anything about it to my wife she said she wouldn't be able to take our daughter to the bathroom here because it smelled like someone had just smoked pot in there. After that I was really disappointed with what I saw afterwards... Just shouting at one employee who looked as if he was doing all the work while pot lady just sat on her phone eating and drinking behind the counter and literally coughing all over the place without covering it or washing her hands...also as we were eating, like a car crash I couldn't look away once I started noticing things.... During all the "trips" out back I didn't see anyone wash their hands... They would use the cash register with their prep gloves on and just proceed to continue prepping food. I hope this reaches the owner, you need to be better... These are your employees and you shouldn't let this happen. And I don't want to fill out your survey so don't respond to this with a copy and paste message you have responded to every other review with... If they do then whoever is reading this will know management doesn't take feedback seriously. Nothing but our disappointment in...
Read moreWhen I saw Penn Station, I had hoped for the best. But it seems I got my hopes up, as I got mediocre. My sandwich was okay, unlike other sandwich places if you ask for something to not be on it they usually ask if you would like something in place of it. As I didn't want onions or tomatoes on my sandwich, so I asked if I could get something in place of it. I was told we can take things off but you can't replace things, as we have to make sandwiches with what's on the menu for them. I was a little perplexed, but just went with it.
I got fries and a drink, bit strangely there is no combo or deal for getting those items. You are charged full price for it all. Usually you get some sort of of deal when you get a drink and a side with a sandwich at other places, just not here. The fries I got, were what was left in the basket. Mostly burnt and over cooked. While the person in front of me got fresh fries right out of the fryer.
So you pay more for your food than you do at other sandwich places. There is preferential treatment of customers. And you can get a sandwich their way or without things. There are better places in the shopping center around the corner for even less money. The only positive I have is that my sandwich was good, but could have been better if I could have done...
