PHO CHEF — Restaurant in Columbus

Good lunch experience. I'll visit again.

Came in to eat at about 1pm on a Thursday. Out of 14 tables, only 2 others were occupied, so I was sat and served fairly quickly. A bit of a language barrier made ordering interesting, but I was able to describe what I wanted and he happily put it in.

I ordered Pad Thai with tofu, pork fried rice, and a Thai iced tea. The tea was 🔥! Fried rice was also very good - hot, fresh and tasty. The Pad Thai wasn't my favorite, which is the reason for missing one star. The noodles were not at all what I'm used to - huge, wide, and overly soft. The taste of the dish itself was ok, but the noodles really threw it off.

All in all, a pleasant experience, good food and quick service. I probably won't get the Pad Thai again, but I'd order the other things a second time and try something...

Excellent service, pleasant atmosphere, good food - but, I don't think I chose the best PHO when I ordered #10. Next time, I'll try #15, with extra steak.

The broth was decent but I wish the flavor was richer. The "regular" size comes in a bowl that's a little bit smaller than I've usually seen when ordering PHO. I although the quality of toppings was excellent and ample (bean sprouts, basil, jalepeno slices and a wedge of lime [would have liked two slices]) though I wish they added things like crispy fried shallots.

The Vietnamese iced coffee with condensed milk was really good!

I will definitely come back, but, I'll still be searching for some other place in Columbus, continuing the search for PHO as good as the one I used to get at The North Market (was sold to new owners years ago and just...

Food was just ok. I got the chicken and shrimp soup and my husband got the curry tofu noodles. The chicken and tofu were both very bland. The curry wasn’t spicy at all even though the menu said it was and it didn’t have much flavor at all. I only got 2 tiny shrimp in my whole dish. The soup broth was pretty good flavor. I got a bubble tea and the lid wasn’t sealed and the waitress watched me spill it on the table when I went to mix it and just said sorry and walked away without offering to reseal it or do anything about it. Also my husband’s meal came out first then our appetizer about 5 min after then my meal another 5 min later so that was odd. Not terrible but we won’t be back. There’s so many other good pho restaurants...
