What a lovely ambiance and cute brunch/bakery spot! Very easily accessible location with plenty of parking (near Sawmill Chuck E Cheese/JoAnn Fabrics). The owners are very hospitable and were very sweet in explaining the different dishes. Huge plus is that it is all halal.
There is not too many tables for sitting inside, so I would say keep smaller groups when coming to dine in. The owner was very kind to put together 3 tables for us to make room for 6 people. There is a large selection of baked sweets from layered cakes to macarons, as well as various type of croissants.
I ended up getting the Maison Skalli breakfast, which was $16. This is a wonderful Moroccan style offering. You get tajine that has eggs and khlii (shredded beef with spices) on a sizzline platter along with 2 pieces of dense Moroccan bread. The entree also includes 2 drinks: freshly squeezed orange juice and mint tea. It is very filling and a great way to taste a variety of things. I really enjoyed this dish, the bread was just a but too dense for me and I wish I had a jam sauce or something of a sauce to dip the rest in.
The mint tea was very good and had a perfect hint of sweetness to it. It is definitely shareable. Overall, a lovely experience and I look forward to going back and trying the desserts...
Read moreI thought Maison Skalli was just a small café at first. But once I walked in, I realized it’s a lot more than that. The place was full of life — people chatting, cups clinking, and the smell of fresh coffee filling the air. It had that warm, easy energy that makes you want to stay for a while.
Almost everyone had the same drink on their table — the Signature Coffee — so I decided to try it too. The rim was brushed with chocolate sauce and rolled in crushed pistachios, topped with a thick, creamy foam that was lightly toasted on top. It looked amazing — like something made with real care.
When I took a sip, the flavors blended together — chocolate, coffee, and a touch of nuttiness. It was rich and smooth, the kind of drink that makes you pause for a moment and smile.
In the pastry case, every dessert looked like a little piece of art. The details, the colors, the way the light hit each one — you could tell someone really loves what they do here.
Maison Skalli is the kind of place that makes all kinds of people happy — those who love desserts that look like art, those who have a soft spot for sweetness, and those who enjoy being surrounded by a bit of world flavor.
It’s not just a café. It’s a sweet...
Read moreThis is a Moroccan-French bakery that I was very excited to try because they have both pastries and full breakfast options. I unfortunately didn’t get to try the breakfast because they were very busy and all of the tables were occupied. I ended up getting their Moroccan tea, latte, and lemon and pistachio croissants. The latte tasted standard. The tea comes in Moroccan tea-ware which was very cool and it was very flavorful and delicious. The croissants were filled with flavorful cream and were mouth watering. All of the workers were extremely nice and kept apologizing for how busy it was and how packed the place was. The things that were bothersome and I don’t think it was because of the busyness, they run the cafe extremely disorganized. The employees were running all over the place, not communicating well, which led to different peoples’ orders coming out at different times and not together. Several times the cashier yelled from the register into the kitchen to correct orders. The wait to get the drinks and food was very long and you could see the frustration people had. The food is very good but this place has a long way to go for...
