I was here one night and waited 3 hours for 3 shakes and a frisco melt. I had ordered 2 strawberry banana real fruit shakes and a mint Oreo shake, 45 minutes after ordering still no shakes. When we asked what the hold up was our server told us that the guy who was making my the shakes had quit. Finally an hour and a half after ordering our shakes arrived! Unfortunately what we got was not what we ordered. The Oreo shake was fine and one of the strawberry banana shakes were okay, however, my strawberry banana shake had a heavy peanut flavor and I’m allergic to peanuts! I told my server that I can’t have peanuts and she told me that she would investigate as to my there was peanut butter in my shake. She came bake and told me that in the metal cup they used to make my shake there was leftover Reese’s cups in it! So not only did it take and hour and a half to make but it was also made in a dirty mixing cup! I am not deathly allergic to peanuts however I do have a slight allergy to them imagine if somebody had really had a severe peanut allergy this would have been a major problem! And now we’re still waiting on the frisco melt. At this time the manager walks out the front door saying “I’m done and im not gonna do this anymore” and our server and another run out after her. At this point me and the 2 people I’m with are wondering what the hell is going on here. The finally get the manager to return to work after about 5 minutes of pleading with her to come back. Mind you We’ve been here for almost 2 and a half hours and still no frisco melt! Now I know what your thinking why wouldn’t you just leave? Well I was already invested and it was 1230 A.M and every other restaurant was closed and I was hungry! I just wanted my frisco melt! So we ask our server that was going on with the sandwich and she goes to investigate, she comes bake and says something happened and they never made it but they were working on it now. Another 30mins go by still no sandwich and I ask the server to just have the sandwich boxed up Togo. Finally the long awaited sandwich arrived and the server hands us the bill nothing had been discounted at all even though we had waited 3 hours for one sandwich! When getting to the register we ask for the manager and we tell her about our experience the manager only wants to take off my shake but never once apologizes for our experience not once the word I’m sorry never leaves her mouth. If she would have just said I’m sorry for your experience I would have been perfectly okay with that but she wouldn’t I asked why she couldn’t say she was sorry and she rolled her eyes at us and said you bill is taken care of and walked away! This was the worst dining experience I’ve ever had and I know at Stake and Shake you really can’t expect much but the management here is so far below any expectation I’ve ever had! So unless you have three hours free I...
Read moreI used to take our kids here all the time when they went to central crossing. After games, after homecoming dance. We loved it. We moved away for a while and were in the area so took our other child and his girlfriend. I'm still shocked at myself for eating because it didn't meet my standards of cleanliness but we were starving and I could see the cook who appeared clean and the cooking area was clean. HOWEVER the eating area, bathrooms, floor, table were filthy! They no longer have servers. It's all self-service through a kiosk. That means a human being doesn't even take your order. If it's one or two people that's not that big of a deal but if you come in with 4-6 people especially teenagers or kids, you have to stand there and manually punch in everybody's order like you are the waitress and then at the end they ask you to tip them. What are you tipping them for? They don't bring you your food, they don't take your order, they don't clean the table,( did I mention that I am the one that got behind the counter where the fountain drink sit, and found a spray bottle with some sort of cleaner, and I took napkins and cleaned it myself because all of the towels were laying all over the floor and very gross looking?) The floor was sticky, the bathroom was filthy dirty. It literally looked like it had flooded in there and set forever and all around the toilets on the base of it was black. The whole restaurant smelled like a house that hadn't been cleaned for a long time. Just that grungy smell. We were the only customers there for the longest time. Next door Dairy Queen the parking lot was full and there were cars all the way around the building waiting to put their order in at the drive-thru. Not the case at Steak and shake. It kind of made me sad given our history there and the great times we had. It is really gone downhill. I gave it as many stars as I did because I would be lying to say the food was not good. The food was very good. But like I said I can't believe I stuck around to even try it. We were...
Read moreI haven't been to Steak 'n Shake in a long time and this evening I was reminded of why. My family and I wanted shakes so we stopped at the Georgesville Square location. Worst decision ever. We walk in and go to the counter. We weren't greeted and there were about 9 or 10 employees working. We waited more than 10 minutes at the counter before my husband finally asked who was working the register or would take our order. A person back towards the back told us a server would help us. So my husband asked one of the servers if someone was going to help us. A young girl came to the counter and was going to take our order. By this time we were all upset. I noticed a woman working in the back with no uniform or anything on. I asked the clerk if that lady was the manager. She said yes. I asked her to tell her we wanted to speak with her. The manager had on a tye-dye shirt and pants. She didn't have on name tag. Nothing reflecting she was an employee. She looked like she came in off the street and started helping pack bags for the drive thru. Anyway, she said to tell them to wait. That made us even more upset. I asked what her name was and was told it was Sabrina. We walked out and went to Dairy Queen next door. To whomever is reading this, if you desire Steak 'n Shake do NOT visit this location. The customer service is horrible. The manager was horrible so I'm not surprised that the staff lacked respect based on how the manger acted. If the manager doesn't care, what makes me think the staff would. I am back to not wanting to go there again. I don't...
