The City Buffet — Restaurant in Columbus

If I could leave 0 stars I would! Extremely unprofessional staff and owners. The food was HORRIBLE AND COLD! Sushi was mediocre at BEST. The white rice cooker wasn’t even plugged in and there was no steam coming from any of the hot plates that were on the buffet table. Not one staff member apologized for us telling them the food was cold but instead told us to take the food to the hibachi to be warmed up. Serving room temperature food to customers is a serious health code violation! They ended up calling the cops on my family because I absolutely refused to pay $80 for 2 adults and 2 children when only 1 adult ate and I said Id pay for that. For management and OWNERS to immediately jump to calling police on customers after they’ve only been open less than a few months just goes to show how many times this has already happened and how much people have already complained. I believe the only reason this place has good reviews is because they’re too blinded by all the fancy decor. The only thing good about this place was the complete remodel but I didn’t come for the decor. I don’t recommend this place to anyone, not even a dog! Take your business elsewhere and don’t bother...

City Buffet... The Weirdest... Or Should I Say Most Interesting Restaurant Experience To Date..

Unlike what we've seen on social media, we weren't invited to try TCB, we paid on our own, so not to say others' reviews are slanted, but we are giving you a review that will probably end up being closer to what a regular patron would experience.

This brand new restaurant is very pleasing on the eyes and full of options. The food, imo was your standard run of the mill Asian Buffet fare, not exceptional, but not waste management either.

There is a create your own Hibachi / Pho bar, which was a pleasant offering to try.

The real experience, however, happened to be the side antics, from an "Amusement Park" styled height measuring contest (which was even stranger because we were never asked his age or height before the contest started), The timed dining limit and the notification that they have the right to charge you $10.99 per lb of food left on your plate.

Our total for 8 people was $180. I will say TCB I'm sure, will be a hit for the area, but due to the cost and quality of food, it'll be a one and done for us.

I had an unbelievably bad experience at this buffet today. I was insulted, and even the manager seemed unable to control his staff.

After my gym session, I stopped by to grab some dinner. The first waiter approached and started speaking to me in Spanish. I politely asked if he could speak English, explaining that I’m not Latino and don’t speak Spanish. Instead of helping, he gave me a suspicious look and just walked away. His attitude and the way he looked at me were extremely disrespectful.

About five minutes later, another waiter came over and also began speaking in Spanish. Again, I asked if he could speak English, and he bluntly said he didn’t want to. I told him I wasn’t Latino, but he clearly didn’t care and deliberately kept speaking Spanish to me.

I brought the issue to the manager and explained everything. I even showed my ID to prove I’m from a different ethnic background. Once he realized that, he called over both employees and asked them to apologize — but they flat-out ignored him too.
