So I got to watch the manager interacting with a customer who was calling to try to scam free food when I came to pick up my meal. I can say that I feel as though they really do care about the quality of their food the restaurant and the reputation. What I do feel a little disappointed in is that everything about the gyro that I had was relatively pedestrian and lackluster. I had both a chicken and a lamb/ beef gyro. The chicken was slightly dry, not particularly flavorful, and only adequate in quantity. The remainder of the gyro was mostly lettuce, the tzatziki sauce was not impressive, and there was just enough tomato onion and feta on top to check the box that it was there. If this had been an inexpensive gyro I wouldn't have been disappointed. But price wise it was slightly above average for Mediterranean food in the city. As for the one that was lamb and beef, the meat was in this case not dry but also bordering on stingy. This one also did have more tzatziki on it, which was good but my cucumber sauce was not particularly impressive it was just okay. We were also looking at about 70% lettuce by volume. I will say their pita is very good, and in all reality the gyros themselves were not bad. They just were slightly below average gyros, for a place that mainline's gyros and heavily promotes them, I expect well made considerably above average gyros. Especially if I am paying at the upper end of the standard gyro price range. I'm not going to hold somewhat inseptid tomatoes against them for a gyro purchased in February, I understand having to run a business with expenses, so expecting fresh lush late summer tomatoes is...
Read moreI’m going to give them 4 stars because I don’t want their rating to go down. However, I have been coming here for years and they have always been my absolute favorite gyro place by far. Literally amazing. But, I’m pretty sure that as of maybe 4-8 months ago they hired a new cook. Not sure if they did but their portions seem to be off compared to before. Very generous with the meat but they seem to be putting less salad topping on there and I’m a person that likes a balance. They have also been flooding the gyro with sauce and they didn’t used to do that. They also seem to not be toasting the gyro flat bread nearly as much and I really liked how they would brown it a little on the flat top before. Somethings have seemed to change and I hope that the store takes this post into consideration and helps the cook stay passionate about their job and corrects the issues because they truly are my favorite gyro place by far but I quit going as much because it has been off and if anyone else has noticed the change then they may start losing...
Read moreI don't eat lamb gyros but lemme tell you, this is the #1 chicken gyro shop hands down! The chicken is great quality meat and cooked to perfection. Not only that, but you get a decent amount for a great value. The offer different size gyros based on the weight of the meat. Whether I order in restaurant to go or through a delivery app, my order is always made correctly and the directions are followed accurately. There was one time (ordered in restaurant to go) where the chicken was overcooked and not up to the usual standard when I got home to eat it. So I called and politely informed them, and they were happy to remake the meal. So in addition to their amazing food, they offer great customer service as well! I order the largest chicken gyro with an extra pita and make two meals out of it! Those are often my favorite days of the week! I am now convinced I have to eat here at least 2-4 times a month. For the price and taste of the food, you can't go wrong eating here and will surely be...
