We arrived early evening for dinner with 3 hungry kids. It was a long wait in a mostly-empty restaurant for service. We ordered burgers and chicken fingers. The food took over 50 minutes to arrive at our table after complaining of the wait. The order was mostly correct. Things like tater tots were sent as fries. No ketchup for burgers. Oh well, we already weren’t planning to come back to this place. My oldest child and my husband both finished their drinks but we never saw a server again for a refill. Then she came and we got the check. It turns out that they’d charged us for BBQ sauce we didn’t order (but we assumed was normal to come with chicken fingers!) and they charged us for every side (tater tots and a side salad). We had no idea! The waitress had asked us when ordering “and what would you like for a side?”, the standard question you usually answer “fries” when you order a burger. Incensed, I called a manager over. I planned to lay out to him: 50 minute wait, wrong food items, no refills or service, and charged for sides we didn’t order or had no idea we’re buy-ups. As soon as I got “over 50 minutes” out of my mouth, the manager said “we’re on a 1 hour food wait,” which I couldn’t believe he didn’t just say “sorry” and admitted (or suggested I should be happy I got my food ten minutes earlier than the other poor customers in the restaurant) they’d mismanaged well enough to get to a one hour wait for simple bar food. He didn’t charge us for our dinner, which, to his credit, was gracious and more than I would’ve asked for. All that said, would never come back to this restaurant and would advise you to keep your expectations low if you...
Read moreI love the atmosphere, but… every time I have been there the food and drink is not great. I ordered a frozen margarita yesterday and they gave me straight crushed ice and tequila: no margarita mix or anything. During happy hour we ordered nachos and they were cold, the chicken had clearly been sitting out all day, and the cheese looked and tasted like cheese from a can. It was one of the worst things I have ever eaten. One of the first times my girlfriend and I came to The Goat, a kitchen employee came out and yelled at me for looking into the kitchen, which is not only unprofessional of any staff member, but has ensured I will never order food again. Overall, there are plenty of things to do here including a large pool for LC residents to enjoy when weather permits, but it is too bad the food isn't very good and the people cooking it are not only unprofessional and lack social skills, but downright ridiculously rude. The vast majority of the staff are warm and pleasant when they eventually get around to you (service tends to be slow), but they seem to be ill prepared and under trained. Honestly a real shame because it is a beautiful property and the management is very nice and...
Read moreWent in to pick up a takeaway order on a Sunday night. While the food was ok, the one thing that stood out to me was the overall lack of organization between the kitchen and servers. The window was overflowing with takeaway and dine-in orders that sat for the full 25 minutes I waited after I was notified in the app my order was ready. Even worse, multiple servers were constantly opening takeaway containers trying to figure out what needed to go into each order. It took 4 servers asking me for the name on the order and what I was waiting on to receive food that was put in the window 15 minutes earlier.
Not entirely the fault of the servers, but management needs to put in a better takeaway order staging area and system so the window is not overflowing and people aren't waiting 25-30 minutes for food that was already prepared and waiting for them when they arrived, as well as to avoid additional handling of food by multiple servers after having contact with dine-in guests. I wouldn't recommend the restaurant until they get a better handle on...
