I contemplated writing this review since we’ve been with healthy pets & Dr. Soroosh for a couple years now, and they’ve been good to us overall. The front desk staff are the kindest humans and the techs are amazing as well. In the beginning of May our sweet 4 year old dog started limping. We had her checked out and ended up going back a week later because it progressed to her hind legs. Dr. Soroosh ran some labs and got x-rays. The labs were relatively normal besides some low platelets. Low enough that myself being an ICU nurse, was concerned. I had brought it up a few times and was told that it wasn’t concerning and what was happening was neuro related and we most likely needed an MRI. He told us to keep her calm, ideally in a crate for 4-6 weeks while she was started on steroids and gabapentin. We also paid extra to have her x-rays sent out for a radiologist to read them. After a week, we still had not received a call with the results. I had to call in order to find out what the results were. We got the referral for neurology, and in the time we waited for our appointment we went back a few more times due to new symptoms (blood in stool, lethargy, significant weight loss, and overall her not being the same). He checked her out, ran a few more tests (Lyme disease, cortisol levels) and everytime we were told to just wait for our neuro consult since everything was “normal”. I knew in my gut something was not right. This was not the dog I knew. We had to go to the emergency vet one night and we were told our vet would follow up with us the next day for more testing. We never received a call. As our dogs status continued to decline we decided to go to MedVet for answers. Our dog spent the weekend at MedVet where they ran all of the tests that should have been done in the first place. They did an abdominal ultrasound and diagnosed her with metastatic carcinoma. It was untreatable. We had to put her down yesterday, and we still have yet to hear from healthy pets at all regarding anything. We are saddened to know that her last few weeks were spent locked in a kennel based on orders from our vet to keep her calm to not injure herself further. She was only a baby, and this should have been caught sooner when I initially questioned her platelets at our first appointment. Between all of the vet visits and emergency vet, we spent over $8,000 to find out something that could’ve been found with an abdominal ultrasound and closer attention in the beginning. I don’t think it would have saved her, but it could’ve given us more time, time that we can never get back. We are heartbroken over the loss of our dog, and hope this doesn’t ever happen to anyone else. If you choose to go to this vet office, which do have really amazing people there despite everything, make sure you question everything & push harder for answers before it’s too late.

Read moreSTAY AWAY. DOG ENDED UP IN EMERGENCY CLINIC WITH ULCER. My dog Toby started experiencing a weird symptom - excessive thirst and urination back in November. After doing all necessary tests they did not find anything and suggested it was a behavior issue (nope, it was not) and prescribed Prozac. After 3 weeks of taking Prozac, my dog started experiencing bad side effects like complete appetite loss and dr Soroosh advised to abruptly stop the medication, which I did and got another appointment with dr Rich. Idk what he was thinking but he found “pain” in my dog’s back and decided to go big and prescribed Steroids. After TWO DAYS of taking steroids my dog got terrible diarrhea and blood in his stool so I called Dr. Rich panicking. He said and THAT’S A QUOTE: “I AM NOT CONCERNED”. He was NOT concerned with blood and black stool/diarrhea. He gave me diarrhea stopper/vet food. It did not help and I continued calling/flagging diarrhea and then I called and said the dog stopped eating completely, he is weak and barely walking. He did not do anything, didn’t even occur to him to recheck his blood test (they kept referencing the blood test FROM 2 MONTHS AGO). My dog wasn’t eating for 3 days and he was fully aware and did nothing (oh wait, he did prescribe an appetite enhancer). I had enough of them and went to OSU emergency clinic where they redid all X-rays, took fresh new bloodwork and guess what? The dog got an ULCER because of the steroids that dr Rich prescribed for guess what reason - for NO reason. Doctors at the OSU said it’s 99% it’s from steroids. The dog did not have a terrible pain. The dog did not have IVDD. The dog did not have the reason to be given steroids. Okay, you through he needed steroids but you completely ignored the most terrible side effects those steroids gave him. We ended up in Internal Medicine hospital and I spent $5000 so far to cure my dog from the ulcer that Dr. Rich gave him and then completely ignored the blood in the stool, the diarrhea, the lack of appetite for 3,5 days. GREAT JOB! I could have spent that money figuring out what is going on with a real doctor and now I am left to pickup the pieces after his...
Read moreDr. Rich did an amazing, thorough exam of my 13 year old Boston Terrier. He explained things in terms I understood and gave me options on routes to take, he took the time to explain what exactly was going on and answered all of my many questions. This is the FIRST time my dog wasn’t scared and shaking, full of anxiety while going to the vet, I couldn’t believe he was able to conduct an exam and do physical tests of any kind on him considering he won’t even let me put eye drops in without it turning into an entire event, my dog loved him and that’s not normally a word I used to describe my dog with a vet’s relationship, it goes to show the care and compassion he must have for his patients and profession. After explaining my concerns, the office was able to get him in the same day and he wasn’t even an established patient yet. I would highly recommend Dr. Rich and his staff and trust them with all of my dogs health concerns moving forward. Later that evening Louie was eating his favorite meal and is acting like his normal self already! Thank you Dr. Rich and the staff at Healthy Pets of Hayden Run! So thankful you’re a part of Louie’s journey...
