My friends and I decided to try Yellow Springs for an early dinner and a few drinks. Upon entering, there is no one to greet you, and no sign indicating if you should wait or just find a table. Went up to ask the bartender who said " You just have to find a place to sit". So friendly and informative. WE found a corner table on the patio. The patio is ridiculously loud. There is no sound suppression so all of the people talking is bouncing off of everything. This is an issue because when a server brings your food or drink, they barely speak to you other than to announce what they have so that they can find out what person it's for. They don't talk loud enough for you to hear and then seem annoyed when you ask them to repeat themselves. Now on to the ordering... You have to order via OR code on the table, the app does not work well and they have poor reception so you have to wait for everything to load each time you try to do something. The online menu does not match the one on the table, and there is no one to ask a question to. Nothing comes out together, so 2 of you have drinks while the other 2 wait another 5-10 minutes to get their's. My friend and I both had someone come and without saying anything, take our glass when we weren't done with our drink. The beer was so so and the food was not great. I had the falafel which was very brown and crunchy and soft and not really cooked in the middle. It was also $15 with no side. Overall just not a good atmosphere, not great beer, mediocre food and unfriendly service. The kicker is, even though there is no wait staff, just food and drink runners, they ask for a tip. I won't be going back here, and won't be recommending...

Was hoping this could be a cool little local spot with good vibes for a drink and a meal on a summer evening. It was not. You seat yourself and scan a QR code to order, so it just has an impersonal feel that says "we're trying to save money on labor, your experience doesn't matter to us, money please." Staff was good, but there were 2 runners and a bartender for the whole place during prime dinner hours.

Food was legitimately over priced considering the lack of effort that was put into it. The burger was tasty, but it came on a cheap, fall apart bun with a tiny portion of fries. That was fine. But I got a $16 appetizer called "The Spreads" which is really what made me feel kind of insulted. It was a few skimpy pieces of bread, a few slices of cucumber and carrot, and some very mid little dips that tasted like they came out of a bag. It came plopped on a piece of checkered paper in a plastic basket. I felt like I was at Chuck E. Cheese and the Fyre Festival at the same time.

If it was me, I would: 1) Have a host, and servers. This place is uninviting, and the location calls for a cozy, tucked away, friendly spot for locals. You won't survive if there's not a vibe. 2) Not serve all of your food on checkered paper in plastic baskets. Your price point is above that. 3) Focus on the food and it's presentation. 4) Hire local artists to do the murals on your walls instead of stick on ones.

I'm always rooting for a small business, and I hope it improves, it could be such a cool spot. But if you want to be part of the community you've got to care about how you interact with it and what you're giving in exchange for...

Met some friends for dinner and a couple beers here tonight, to check it out. Atmosphere is cool, and employees were nice. My buddy and I each got the French dip sandwich. $18 with no side. I got fries for an extra $3. My pint was $7.. So $28, altogether. There was literally more bun than beef on that sandwich. I’m not joking. Fries were definitely out of a bag, and even the portion was laughably small. I’m not exaggerating, my friend ordered more food because after eating his $18 sandwich, he was still hungry.. and I literally ate again when I got home.. after my $21 sandwich and fries, an hour before.

If you’re looking for a place to grab some beers, this place fits the bill. If you’re looking for food, I’d highly recommend going elsewhere. It’s insultingly overpriced, and frankly mediocre at best. I love the OG Yellow Springs brewery out in YS. But they REALLY missed the mark with the food at the Clintonville location.

I’m a local clintonvillian, and I try to support local businesses around here, but I probably...

Don’t get me wrong, I’ve loved all the beers from this place, but their food menu leaves a lot to be desired, ESPECIALLY when it comes to Togo food. My boyfriend picked up the loaded fries with toppings on the side (to prevent the food from getting soggy), and they left out the candied bacon, which is an integral part of the dish. Fries with some beer cheese and sour cream are not worth $12 without the protein that was supposed to be included in the dish. He picked up the Mediterranean bowl for me, which was good, but lacking vegetables and the portion is ridiculously small for $14. Not to mention, it looks really unappetizing the way it was packaged, granted it is Togo so I know that’s not the ideal way to build the dish to begin with. Love the location and the drinks, but not sure we will rely on this brewery for food anymore.

Unfortunately, I had a rather disappointing experience at Yellow Springs Brewery. Despite looking forward to a pleasant meal, my family and I were met with burnt sandwiches. Not only did this affect the taste, but it also showed a lack of attention to detail in the kitchen. Adding to the disappointment, their fries are not gluten-free. Given the importance of accommodating dietary restrictions, this oversight was particularly frustrating. Overall, the combination of burnt food and menu discrepancies made for a less-than-satisfactory dining experience. Hopefully, Yellow Springs Brewery can address these issues to ensure a more enjoyable visit for future patrons.

Had an awesome experience at Yellow Springs Brewery! I grabbed a burger with fries and their dragon sauce—absolutely delicious. Tried two hazy beers, both excellent, while my girlfriend went with seltzers from Humble Forager, which were hands down the best seltzers I’ve ever had. The space itself is fantastic with multiple outdoor areas—an upstairs patio and a downstairs covered patio with fans that make it perfect even on hot days. Between the great food, top-notch drinks, and relaxing outdoor vibes, this place is an all-around winner. Definitely recommend!
