Cafe Aurora — Restaurant in Commerce Charter Township

I was really hoping this would be a nice local café to work from and enjoy good coffee, but I left disappointed. The prices are on the higher side, yet there’s no Wi-Fi available — something that should be standard when paying to sit and work.

Service was also lacking. The staff seemed confused and unprepared: basics like sugar, straws, and stirrers weren’t stocked, and we had to repeat our order multiple times before it was correct. There was no friendly greeting, just a flat “what do you want.” I ordered syrup in my latte and didn’t receive it; when I went back to ask, they tried to charge me again and seemed unsure how to handle it.

On top of that, the café was still under construction while people were dining, with jars of screws and other tools left around. Honestly, it feels like the place opened before...

I just paid 9.50 for a minimum 1 day old chocolate croissant. I suspect they are buying them from canelle at the end of the day and marking it up 100%. My hopes ans dreams of a local café were squashed. Waitress was very nice to the point that I didn't go back in and complain and the inside...

Very good food and great ambience. The waiter was very attentive to our needs. The tableside Ceasar salad was a nice touch. The lobster linguine had a little spicy note with the succulent meat. The sweet cherry tomatoes added a pop of summer. Would definitely recommend...
