Aurora on the Lake was the absolute perfect place for our wedding — romantic, elegant, and truly unforgettable. Located on the second floor of a restaurant overlooking Union Lake, the space is newly renovated and absolutely stunning. It’s modern yet warm, with a clean, upscale aesthetic that still feels intimate and welcoming.
One of the most important factors for us was the food — and Aurora absolutely delivered. Everything was exceptional. The pasta is made fresh daily (and you can taste the difference), and our filet entrées were cooked to perfection. Guests are still raving about the meal — it felt like a fine dining experience in a wedding setting, which is so rare.
We were actually the first wedding hosted at the venue, so it felt like a little bit of a risk at first. But any nerves I had disappeared quickly. Their event coordinator, Sogand, went above and beyond to make sure everything went smoothly. She was organized, responsive, and clearly cared about every detail. She made the planning process feel easy and the day itself feel effortless. I can’t thank her enough for all that she did behind the scenes.
We also had our ceremony at the venue, and it was absolutely breathtaking. Saying our vows with the lake in the background created the most serene and romantic atmosphere. Between the natural light, the modern design, and the view — it felt like a dream.
Aurora on the Lake is a truly unique wedding venue — combining restaurant-quality food, a beautiful lakeside location, and exceptional service. The flow of the space worked perfectly for our timeline (ceremony, cocktail hour, dinner, and dancing), and the staff treated our guests with such warmth and care.
If you’re looking for a venue that’s fresh, beautiful, and centered around incredible food and service — this is it. I feel so lucky that our wedding was part of Aurora’s story. I’d choose it again in...
Read moreMy husband and I came for our anniversary and overall the experience was mediocore. The portions were very generous. The burrata al pesto was good, the meatballs were too salty and bland otherwise, my husband liked the fruiti di mare but felt it was average compared to other restaurants, and the bolognese tasted acidic and a more liquidy consitency with not a ton of flavor, the chocolate crouquant cake was very delicious. The homemade noodles were very good and appreciate the time that goes into making them. Our server, Kayla and other waitstaff, were great and helpful. Our reservation was at 6:00 and that seemed to be a popular time as there was a big rush; we arrived at 5:50. It took 15 minutes to seat us even though when we arrived there was only one couple ahead of us at that time. There were 3 people at the front desk and only one of them seemed to know where to put people and taking people to their seats. She greeted us briefly when we entered and answered the phone before completing her instructions to us; it was not very welcoming.
We were sat at a table for two next to a glass wall where the wine is and the other side is the narrow walkway that goes out to the patio. Waiters were constantly running by us, trying to squeeze by each other, and carried trays of food over our heads. I had to keep my arm close to my body while eating because I was afraid to be knocked into. I had a view of the water but my husband had to look at the entrance door to the restaurant, the waiter station and people coming in/out of the kitchen. This was not a relaxing or enjoyable seating arrangement, especially for the cost. If you get seated here, I would ask to be moved ASAP. But I highly recommend Aurora remove this...

If you're considering spending your money at Aurora on the Lake - DONT. I don’t care how pretty the photos look or how trendy the concept sounds. Save yourself the time, the frustration, and in my case, the 🦟86 mosquito bites🦟
Let’s start with the basics: we waited over an hour just to get our first drinks and one appetizer. For a dinner that cost us ❗️$825❗️that level of service is beyond inexcusable. And it didn’t get better- our salads (advertised as being made tableside) showed up two hours into the meal and NOT made tableside.
But here’s where it got truly ridiculous. After a rainstorm, the staff made zero effort to address the overwhelming mosquito problem on the patio. No offer to move us inside, no bug zappers, no candles, no fans- nothing. We were just left there to get DEVOURED. I counted 86 bites on my legs alone. And thanks to the completely open wall between the patio and interior, the bugs weren’t just our problem- they were everyone’s.
On top of that the bathroom looked like it hadn’t been checked in hours. Toilet paper on the floor, poorly lit, and gross enough to make you second-guess your next bite.
This place wants to be fine dining, but can’t even deliver basic hospitality or a clean restroom. Aurora might be on the lake, but it’s totally off the mark. Don’t waste your time,...
