Our night started out very interesting from the fact that the waitress spilled a glass of water on my guest i had for dinner, she could not get a single drink order correct we told her 3 different times and then she even came and wrote it down. It just continued to get worse. Service was so bad the waitress told us she was still hung over from her weekend of partying for her birthday. Just could not pull it together. We actually asked for a manager well the manager ended up being a partner owner. He just did not get it, as we were discussing the poor service he turned it around to it being we had to much to drink to the fact that other tables were complaining about us being to loud. WOW and never during the course dinner were we out of place. Yes we had some good laughs with our friends at dinner. I guess when you are out for dinner your not allowed to laugh out loud. The owner never acknowledged that we had a bad experience. As he was sitting their the waitress brought our deserts and placed it in front of the wrong person and still could not remember who order what. The one guest still had her dinner plate in front of her we had to ask her to please remove the plate. This was just a part of how the waitress just never got it the whole night. How many times does a waitress have to apologize for a mistake every single time she brings something to the table?????????????????????????????? WOW The bad thing is the manager was sitting down at our table and seen how our service was. He never adjusted our BILL AT ALL... I felt the service was terrible and the manager/owner just did not understand about customer service how sad . The food was okay but the waitress I felt the service was so terrible. I love to support small business owners well...

My wife and I have dined here a number of times in the past but after last night's dinner we probably won't be going back. My wife ordered one of the specials, walleye with redskin potatoes and asparagus. Fish was a very thin filet with corn flake coating. Over cooked fish and potatoes. They had the nerve to upcharge for the asparagus. Definitely not worth $27.00. I had very bland fish and chips. Drink prices way too high, $12.00 for a weak Manhattan.
Well, history has repeated itself.
Last Friday (4-19-24) my wife and I decided to give The Lakes Bar & Grill another chance.
I ordered the Turkey burger with rice pilaf, and my wife ordered the Filet (medium rare) with asparagus instead of the mixed vegetables and fingerling potatoes. The turkey burger wasn't hot, the rice pilaf was cold, and burger patty was burnt on one side. My wife's filet ($40.00) was overcooked and dry, the asparagus ($2.00 upcharge) was undercooked, woody and cold, and the potatoes were undercooked and hard. Additionally, my wife ordered a Cosmo ($11.00) and it had so much vodka in it, halfway through it she couldn't finish it.
By the time we were halfway through our meals, discovering how poor they were, the restaurant was packed so to save the embarrassment by complaining, we just paid the bill and left with our meals unfinished.
Needless to say, we will not be coming back to Lakes Bar &...
Read moreSaw an ad for this restaurant and decided to take hubby for a post-Valentine's Day dinner. I was a little skeptical, at first, because it sits in a strip mall right in between 2 other businesses.
But it did not disappoint! From the popping atmosphere to the very wonderful server, Adelle, everything was just great! Everything she suggested was spot on!
We started with crabcakes and southwest chicken spring rolls. 😋
Hubby's NY strip steak was tender and mostly cooked to his satisfaction, said veggies were perfectly seasoned, MI Cherry side salad was just right, and paired with his microbrew & wine, he was good for the evening.
This was the 1st time I've ever eaten the entire bowl of French Onion soup (it was soooooo good!), along with a full MI Cherry salad.
Finished off with a chocolate/peanut butter something and creme brulee with fruit. They were just so good and perfectly portioned.
The atmosphere was jumping, but very homey. You could tell several people were regulars. It was not a cheap date ($134 without tip, for 2). It was our 1st visit, but pretty sure it won't...
