We have been here several times and while I think it is a great activity for the kids, I am so disappointed by the experience we had holding my son's 6th birthday here. I never leave reviews but am just so upset with our experience I want to warn others. From the moment of booking until the conclusion of the party the process was riddled with problems. I probably had to call 10 times over 2 weeks before someone actually answered the phone to book the party (my understanding is they have since changed staff). Arrived on party day and told what room we were going to be in. Get to the room, lights off, no prep done whatsoever. Staff rushed to fix it but because they did not prepare accordingly, they were setting up when my guests arrived. Several guests report standing in line for 15 minutes waiting to be checked in (even after we had paper waivers signed and ready so guests wouldn't be inconvenienced). Because of this, several kids jump time was impacted. Parents were not given observer armbands at check-in (these were 5/6 year olds, of course parents need observer armbands) therefore they had to go stand back in line to get these. Even though we booked for 15 people, they put us in a tiny room with two picnic size tables. Because of the size of the room and tables, there was not enough room for all of the kids and we had several who had to stand to eat. Abduallah our party host was very kind and helpful but was obviously covering many parties which made him pretty inaccessible when we needed things like water. There was just a total lack of anyone knowing what was going on. Three minutes before our official party-time ended staff started rushing us out of the room. Picking up our gifts, throwing away leftover food and cupcakes. We asked for a cart to take stuff out and were told they were all being used and we couldn't wait for one to be available. Just felt like we were on some party assembly line. I could include a bunch of other details on ways they failed but it would take all day. I spoke with the general manager (Josh?) before leaving. He was apologetic and offered to refund our money, I had a tired, cranky, unhappy birthday boy and needed to go. Told him to call me if he wants to resolve the issue. That was over a week ago, still no call. Not surprising. Love this place but absolutely do not recommend booking a party here until they make some changes to their process!
UPDATE: After posting this review, the management at DEFY contacted me and offered me a refund. Like I said in my review, we actually really enjoy Defy and were surprised by how disappointing our birthday party experience was but I commend them on eventually doing the right thing. I truly believe th ru y care about their customers and want to employ feedback to provide the best...
Read moreI will never host another party at this location. I booked a birthday party here from 2-4p. The website auto creates a birthday invitation for you to provide to your guest. On the invitation, it clearly states that the birthday party is from 2 to 4 PM. I arrived about 15 minutes early to get checked in in hopes that I would shortly there after being able to set up the room for the party. After being checked in, I was not given an immediate time for the room to be available. I inquired with the establishment in regards to when the room will be available and was told the room would be available at 4 PM after the party is over. I have attended numerous parties at this location and was extremely confused as to why a room that I reserved for a party would not be available until the party was over. I was told that is their policy that the party time is from 2 to 4 and that is for the children to jump. The room is not made available until the party is actually over for one hour. That made absolutely no sense whatsoever. Why would you pay all that money for a party that basically only covers the children jumping. My guest were extremely inconvenienced. They had plans after the party so they had to leave at 4 o’clock. So unfortunately, my daughter’s birthday party was not a party at all. I was offered 20% off. I’m assuming for my inconvenience I’m not really sure. But I am completely unsatisfied and will never ever use this location again for a party not to mention all the food I ordered was not available until 4 PM when the party was over. When the food arrived, the pizza was warm. Everything else was cold. Also, while the children were jumping, not all of the parents in my birthday party were given wristbands to be able to go on the floor to observe their children. There were multiple altercations with the staff member and my parents, as a result of them not giving us what we needed to be able to oversee our children. The whole experience was ridiculous. It was embarrassing, and it was a complete waste of money. I did further research on Urban Air, which is located basically right across the street and their policies are the complete opposite of Sky Zone. When you book a reservation for a birthday party, you get a room during the party so you are allowed to relax in the room, you can place tour belongings in the room in a safe place while your children jump. In the future, I will definitely be booking parties...
Read moreI've visited DEFY twice recently and while my kids love it - as a responsible adult concerned for the health and safety of the children I bring there, I'm extremely disappointed. First of all, management is clearly an issue there. There is not enough staff there to accommodate the guests. From 1-2 cashiers having to check the long lines of people coming in (one dedicated to parties, one to others) and these poor young workers try their best as cheerfully as they can, but there simply aren't enough of them and they clearly don't have the support of management that they needs. Secondly, there aren't enough safety staff monitoring the kids in the main play areas. No one to keep older, dare devil stunting jumpers from pummeling smaller children and toddlers. Both of these issues were observed on both of my visits. On our first visit, my son was attending a party. The host parents of the party received very little help / support from staff. The staff was more focused on rushing the group out of the room to turn it over vs. making their experience efficient and enjoyable. Additionally, while staff is busy preparing food for the parties, the concession stand for the rest of the guests was neglected. They flat out told myself and another parent that they just "didn't have time" to make any other food (hot dogs, pretzels) outside of the pizzas for the parties that were going on. On our second visit, the concession stand wasn't even open, they had NO vending machines and essentially ZERO beverage options - one staff member referred me to the "out of order" drinking fountain when I asked him how I was to hydrate the 5 children who were thirsty after jumping for an hour... when I brought the issue to the young lady at the front desk, she was very apologetic and agreed with me that she thought it was wrong that they had nothing to offer (she suggested I walk next door to Kroger to buy the kids drinks and bring them back). I explained to her that I was one parent here with 5 children (ages 2-9) and couldn't do that. They were clearly open in violation of health code violations on our last visit. There appeared to be no adult manager there on staff each time I visited, and while these young workers were trying their best, and this place has a lot of potential... the owners / managers of this place need to get with the program. Very...
