A decent brewery in Commerce township. We came for dinner and drinks with friends. We had heard good things about CJs. It was a Friday night and they were fairly busy, the wait wasn't too bad, about 15 minutes. The service was ok. Our waitress was polite but not super friendly or attentive. It took a long time to get our drink order, even longer to get our drinks. It took a long time to place a food order and we had to ask. Food took a while to come out and they messed up ours so they remade it, but they clearly made it in a hurry because it was burnt. The rest of the food was fine. The drinks were ok. We did 3 flights so we could sample many of the beers. They were mostly OK. A few stand out good ones. The Octoberfest, the dopple, the Red. But there were a few duds, the brown, the peach passionfruit. It was also not cheap So I can't recommend CJ's. I would be willing to try it again sometime maybe a different time of year and get a different food item from the menu, but for now I can't recommend them.

I’ve been to CJ‘s several times and usually it’s been a good experience. This last time not so great the server was just a little too quick when he came to the table not taking the time to really listen he delivered what we asked for but just seem like they were rushed. It also seemed that the prices have been increased since I was there last summer. I think they’re a little high for what you get. I had the Philly cheesesteak it was OK, but kind of bland needed some kind of a sauce or something to go with it. My mom had the fish and chips and she thought it was good, I’ve had fish and chips before and I agree. The pizzas usually really good as well. The Hags Red beer was good, so I would say all in all just an average experience. In my ratings three stars is average, five stars is exceptional. I should point out that Sunday is Kids eat free with the purchase of an entrée so that’s a pretty good deal if you have a couple of kids.

Awesome pub! Love their Pub Nachos, Slimjim, Reuben sandwich , and Brew fire burger! My favorite "fancy" burger place. Their proportions are huge. I save the other half for another meal or easily share it with my toddler. Their Mac n' cheese is awesome for the kiddos though. If you want a little special twist for your fries, have them make it with truffle oil. It's delish and tastes better than regular fries. They also serve sweet potato waffle fries which is my second favorite! As for beer, I'm a sweet beer person and I like the Golden Lager. There are other choices like pizzas and etc, but I love their burgers and my special fries the most. For the lunch hour that we came in, they were timely with their service!

I've been going to CJs for over ten years now, and I only started experiencing issues within the past year (two times exactly). CJs handled the first situation great. We were regulars until this last experience.

1st experience: my fiance's ribs came out tough. Manager with brown hair came over to the table. Took her time with us and expressed she was sorry. Server brought us new ribs. They were perfect. Manager took his meal off the bill to our surprise. We repaid the server by putting the discount towards her tip on top of 20%

2nd experience: we ordered the same thing. Fries came out like they were freezer burned. We expressed the concerns to the server. Server was very friendly throughout the time. She called her manager over. Manager with blonde hair quickly said sorry and seemed like she didnt want to be bothered with the situation. New order of fries were the same... they were clearly freezer burned. Tasted sour and were frozen. Cooks tried by cooking the fries longer, but they must have used the same bag. We were offered coupons for our next visit.

I don't know what has changed in the kitchen. But fries are almost impossible to mess up :( my fiance won't return again due to the offer from the second manager. He would've been satisfied with fries being fresh or a few dollars off. It's extremely unfortunate because CJs has been my choice of restaurant for the past ten years. But the kitchen needs to get back to its...

If I could give this place zero stars, I would. I stopped by here on Saturday afternoon with my fiancé and were treated terribly. To be blunt, we were discriminated against. We got seated right away by a very friendly hostess but it went downhill from there. No server ever came to greet us, bring us water, silverware, etc. Multiple servers walked past us in the approximate 10 minutes we were in the establishment and no one spoke a single word to us. There were two big groups of patrons that got seated after us and were served immediately. Finally one server walked up to the single black employee, assuming she told her she HAD to be our server, made eye contact with my fiancé who happens to be black as well, and that's when we decided that we were not welcome there and left. I've been with my fiancé for almost 14 years and not once have I ever felt that much hate towards another individual simply because of their skin tone. I should have known since this place is located across the street from a golf course that looked pretty swanky. If you're any ethnicity other than white, I'd be afraid to be treated the same way. You mine as well go somewhere else. I understand everywhere is short staffed due to the pandemic but that shouldn't change the way you treat...

The American Wheat is my favorite beer here. It's probably my favorite beer now. I ended up joining the mug club which they have different deals every single day. Have tried just about everything on the menu, gf and I have not had one bad meal here. The staff is very friendly, fast and fun. Live nearby and so happy that we do because this is our go to bar that is priced reasonably for a brewery, your not paying $6 for a beer, although if beer isn't your thing it's like $7-8 for a damn shot/mixed drink. Usually end meeting up with friends and coworkers here for a good beer and food. Dave and Emily are great bartenders/wait staff and always make sure your beer is full.

Update again: Recent changes to the menu are more traditional bar menu now. I liked the truffle tots they used to have and some other items but no longer serve. Would like to see some different menu items that I can't find nearby, maybe something a little more exciting/ trendy like other breweries tend to do, like the new bar down the road 'Side Car Slider Bar'. Good food but looking for more excitement rather than...
