I've been going to CJs for over ten years now, and I only started experiencing issues within the past year (two times exactly). CJs handled the first situation great. We were regulars until this last experience.
1st experience: my fiance's ribs came out tough. Manager with brown hair came over to the table. Took her time with us and expressed she was sorry. Server brought us new ribs. They were perfect. Manager took his meal off the bill to our surprise. We repaid the server by putting the discount towards her tip on top of 20%
2nd experience: we ordered the same thing. Fries came out like they were freezer burned. We expressed the concerns to the server. Server was very friendly throughout the time. She called her manager over. Manager with blonde hair quickly said sorry and seemed like she didnt want to be bothered with the situation. New order of fries were the same... they were clearly freezer burned. Tasted sour and were frozen. Cooks tried by cooking the fries longer, but they must have used the same bag. We were offered coupons for our next visit.
I don't know what has changed in the kitchen. But fries are almost impossible to mess up :( my fiance won't return again due to the offer from the second manager. He would've been satisfied with fries being fresh or a few dollars off. It's extremely unfortunate because CJs has been my choice of restaurant for the past ten years. But the kitchen needs to get back to its...
Read moreIf I could give this place zero stars, I would. I stopped by here on Saturday afternoon with my fiancé and were treated terribly. To be blunt, we were discriminated against. We got seated right away by a very friendly hostess but it went downhill from there. No server ever came to greet us, bring us water, silverware, etc. Multiple servers walked past us in the approximate 10 minutes we were in the establishment and no one spoke a single word to us. There were two big groups of patrons that got seated after us and were served immediately. Finally one server walked up to the single black employee, assuming she told her she HAD to be our server, made eye contact with my fiancé who happens to be black as well, and that's when we decided that we were not welcome there and left. I've been with my fiancé for almost 14 years and not once have I ever felt that much hate towards another individual simply because of their skin tone. I should have known since this place is located across the street from a golf course that looked pretty swanky. If you're any ethnicity other than white, I'd be afraid to be treated the same way. You mine as well go somewhere else. I understand everywhere is short staffed due to the pandemic but that shouldn't change the way you treat...
Read moreThe American Wheat is my favorite beer here. It's probably my favorite beer now. I ended up joining the mug club which they have different deals every single day. Have tried just about everything on the menu, gf and I have not had one bad meal here. The staff is very friendly, fast and fun. Live nearby and so happy that we do because this is our go to bar that is priced reasonably for a brewery, your not paying $6 for a beer, although if beer isn't your thing it's like $7-8 for a damn shot/mixed drink. Usually end meeting up with friends and coworkers here for a good beer and food. Dave and Emily are great bartenders/wait staff and always make sure your beer is full.
Update again: Recent changes to the menu are more traditional bar menu now. I liked the truffle tots they used to have and some other items but no longer serve. Would like to see some different menu items that I can't find nearby, maybe something a little more exciting/ trendy like other breweries tend to do, like the new bar down the road 'Side Car Slider Bar'. Good food but looking for more excitement rather than...
