Ta Chingon Mexican Restaurant — Restaurant in Commerce City

I have reviewed this restaurant previously. It was one of the best Mexican food places in town, imo. Lately though, something has changed. The food is lacking, compared to when they first opened. It was like grandma gave her recipes to a distant cousin or something- it's just not the same. (The good news is Arroz con leche is the very best i have EVER had!). Overall though, things seem to have taken a turn, and it makes me so sad. They had a really good thing going. Now the food appears thrown together and missing ingredients and care. They got me hooked on amazing and then they switched it for some version that is just alright. I order at least once a week, usually more often, but now, that may change. Please go back to the reliably delicious food/preparation that you had before. Also, the young lady cashier is lovely and nice, but she doesn't pay enough attention to the computer order itself. On two occasions things were missing from my delivery order. Perhaps this is a DoorDash interface problem, but in either case, it is impacting return customers Come on y'all! I'm rooting for you! You can do this!!

Update: Two days later and like magic the quality of the food is restored! I'm not sure what happened over the weekends, but I am happy to report that THIS was an exceptional meal- all the love and care has returned. "Grandma" must have come home. Love...

Usually I really love this place and am happy with it which is why we go pretty much every other weekend but today was beyond upsetting.

I’m confused how 21.99 + 21.99 + 3.00 adds up to be $60 which is what I was charged. That should be around $45 and with tax maybe $51ish, I was charged $10 higher. Then I tipped and paid around $70. The girl working inside said the wait would be 15-20 minutes and which I anticipated about 30 minutes, on top of being over charged the wait was almost one hour! The girls response was maybe next time call so you don’t have to wait so long. I never minded the wait, it was the fact that it was almost a hour when I was told 15-20 minutes. Being ripped off just makes everything a million times worse. We go there probably every other weekend and get the same order and never are over charged and our wait time is ALWAYS 20-30 minutes except when we do call and it’s ready within minutes. I never have issues, today was very different.

I was tempted based on great looking pictures and comments, on my way to a job stopped by. I had been craving Menudo unfortunately they said they just ran out.

So , it's good and bad. It's good because means they'll sell it freshly made but bad if they don't note if only available certain days or certain hrs before noon.

I hate to be the odd man, seems fairly new but that's the only way can encourage to improve, being a small business and new it's important to provide consitant quality service. While it may be due to inexperience if not the case then it's something that can be given higher priority moving forward.

The waitress didn't seem too welcoming, maybe inexperience who knows, the location is fairly small so it lends itself to greet every customer upon entering .

That being said, I ended opting for a Torta de carnitas which is not necessarily a sit down meal but it was prepared well, perhaps on the smaller side but...
