El Gallo Giro — Restaurant in Commerce

This place is a mess from the tables to the service. It's unorganized and just doesn't make sense. You walk in wondering where to order. The prepared food looks good under those lights so you'll decide to stay despite the frustration. The lady at the register doesn't speak a lick of English. She'll repeat a bunch of words behind her mask, leaving you dumbfounded. I do speak Spanish. She actually made no sense. The poor girl is so incompetent, she forgot to put in half my order between the time it took me to say it and the time it took her to ask nonsense questions. She didn't charge me for the torta we wanted and she straight up didn't give me my $7 horchata. We did get our tiny $5 tacos. I usually get a plate full for that price. The food tasted good.... just good. Nothing special.

Want somewhere to waste your money or overpay?! come here! Started coming to El Gallo Giro, not this one specifically, decades ago before they were a thing or everywhere. Haven't been to 1 in years and decided today why not. Everything I wanted how I wanted was not an option but of course there is something more expensive as your only option. One example: want a 20oz drink? they only have 32oz cups so pay more or get nothing to drink - must be impossible to fill a 32oz cup with less beverage. Glad I no longer live by them & when making the trek to a town where there is one, they won't be who I visit. The bread was decent but not worth...

Honestly, not very happy with the price nor the food.

We ordered the beef milanesa plate ($16) and 3 carne asada tacos ($15) and a regular Jamaica ($7).

Milanesa tasted burnt, rice was decent with barely any flavor, beans were average and the carne asada in the tacos were dry, flavorless and cold after 30 seconds.

Solution: lower your prices to match current quality or make the best, juiciest and tasty meat and keep your current prices.

I don’t like seeing restaurants that have potential lose like this. I’ve cooked on the grill in a restaurant before and it shouldn’t be that hard to provide great...
