Johnson Brothers BBQ — Restaurant in Compton

So first off I want to say this is some of the BEST BBQ I've had in a while. It was falling off the bone good!👍🏾🔥 The taste, seasoning and flavor was on point! 🎯 And that sauce will make you slap somebody! 🙌🏾🤣 BUT... The yams tasted like they were canned yams. Watery with very little flavor (No nutmeg, cinnamon, brown sugar, butter... you know how Big Mama made it.) The macaroni & cheese was good but it could've used more cheese. I like my Mac & Cheese to have some togetherness and that did not... it was falling all apart. But that flavor was good. Now the potato salad was 👌🏾 you can tell it wasn't no store brought potato salad with those hard potatoes in it. BUT IT WAS EXTREMELY SALTY!🧂😬

But overall the meat was delicious. I love supporting our Black Owned Businesses. And it's great to have a good BBQ spot right in our city... The Beautiful city of Compton.

I'm telling you if you make those changes to the sides EVERYTHING will be🔥🔥🔥

Oh... And the cashier Terry (well that's what the receipt say his name was lol) He was awesome! His customer service was on point. Very nice, friendly and straight to the point. (This is what we have and this is what we don't have lol.) Because it was close to closing time.

We were in the area and looking for some good BBQ so I started to Google and this location came up. After reading all of the reviews and looking at pictures we decided that this was the place. So glad we made that decision! I'm not sure if you can call ahead but if you can that's a great option so when you arrive you can pay and pick up your food. It's a walk up spot, no seating of any kind so we ate in the car. The area was decent we didn't feel like anything was going to pop off, there's parking curbside if you can get it and a parking lot in the back. Not sure what this may look like on a Sunday since it's next to a church. I ordered the rib tip (mild sauce) dinner with Mac and cheese and baked beans. Sorry pics next time I was quite hungry and forgot lol. They told me it would be 20-25 min before it was ready. Timing was right we picked up and headed back to the car. I opened the container with the rib tips and it was glistening with sauce, mmmmm they were tender and seasoned. Both sides were very tasty and hot. I have found my new BBQ spot in Compton! On my next visit I promise to take pics, and try something new.....see you soon...

Discovered this little hidden gem in the city & let me tell you the food was absolutely amazing. Worth every penny! When it comes down to BBQ i dont care how much is spend as long as the quality it in the food and your greeted with a smile! Thats most important! This place nailed that! My first job was in the BBQ business and i know its not an easy one sometimes. But this place is magnificent he got our plates out in the time he said 10 min which is great timing! The brisket, chicken link, mac & cheese with the baked beans was my choice 10/10 portions were great i even have some left over for lunch tomorrow. My freind got the ribs & brisket with the same sides as i did her ribs were on point ok!!. Cooked to perfection. I cant wait to go back to try some greens! Then we dipped into the yams ohh man were they so delicious they had the perfect amount of spices added! Last thing that banana pudding topped it off for everything!!..
