Planet Health Compton — Restaurant in Compton

This place is beautiful and sets a vibe that is much needed in Compton. There is a lot to see, do, and eat so take your time. The artwork on the walls is stunning and you can get lost just looking around and taking pictures. Okay, let's get into it:

GOOD: Ambiance, customer service, speedy delivery of food, the Juice Trap juices, the variety of cultural and culinary options. Yes, they do sell shoes and other merchandise, but they also have space for community events. And while shoes may not be vegan, I appreciate their efforts to build a space for real cooperative economics.

BAD: The menu is expansive (and not very budget friendly) with plenty of options, but can be a bit deceiving. Almost everything has an actual meat name in the titles, but are mostly variations of fried mushrooms. Do Vegans really need to think they are having lobster? At one point I couldn't tell if some of the protein options were actually meat or not, so a little clarity might help. Especially for folks with allergies.

I tried the Cauliflower and Fries. The food was too hot to enjoy for a few minutes and by the time I could eat it, the breading was a bit soggy. I would have liked to also had bigger portions of hot sauce and ketchup.

Overall, I liked the visit and will be back with plenty of questions (and money) to try...

Heats off to the owner and staff in this place taking all effort to make it excellent and you know what, they are successful in that. I am not sure how popular is it in US but first time I saw video games for kids which is simply great while coming with kids, so they are not bored and we can fully enjoy the meal. Great vibes and interior with all the famous people from Compton especially rappers painted on walls. Very delicious and healthy food best we had while in LA. I keep my fingers crossed for Planet Health and you guys making this location absolutely standing out. Exceptional hospitality as well. I came over from Poland with my fam and knew this place is one of a kind. Please help to keep it going people. It must stay on the CPT map. Love love this place and definitely will be back. Today was my First time trying this place I came 30 min before closing and the owner was so nice and welcoming. Our food was fresh and delicious I was truly amazed at the lobster roll that kale hit like my grandmas greens so much food for the price ! The “lobster “was tender juicy and flavorful .The flavors are bomb! I ordered the blvd burger chili cheese fries and a fish taco let me tell you the flavor just pop reminds me of of home cooked soul food … The art and scenery in the building is truly beautiful. I’m in 100% support of this black owned business! This to me was an example of black excellence. Thankful for the experience and definitely will be coming back for more!
