Upon first glance, this place looks adorable. My experience began on a beautiful Saturday morning—but quickly took a turn for the worse.
The staff took my name and assured me I was next, saying the table was ready and the wait would be short. However, about 30 minutes later, I popped my head in to ask if our table was ready. Without an apology for the delay, I was told the table just needed to be wiped down and we’d be seated shortly. Thankfully, we finally were.
Trying to let go of the extended wait, I attempted to enjoy the small-town charm—but that quickly faded, replaced by the pretentiousness of both the service staff and customer base.
I waited over an hour for my food. My “bottomless” coffee was never refilled. The people I dined with had received their meals, finished eating, and were ready to go before I even received mine.
I politely asked if my food would be coming soon. As someone who’s worked in service, I understand that delays happen—but I had been waiting an hour for eggs. Instead of an apology, the waitress responded with a curt “okay,” as though I were an inconvenience.
When more time passed, I asked to have my meal packed to go since I was running out of time. But my food never came. No one checked in, updated me, or even acknowledged the delay. Again—this was just eggs.
Eventually, I had to leave. The people I was with brought my food to me later—cold eggs.
At least they were offered an apology and told the kitchen was short-staffed. That information would have been helpful before I waited over an hour and a half.
Oh and the three meals cost $50. Don’t worry, no discount was provided nor offered. I paid full price and still tipped 20% but will...
Read moreMy husband and I found this restaurant while searching for a breakfast place on google maps and decided to stop in for brunch. The restaurant far exceeded our expectations! The atmosphere was adorable, we loved the little train that goes around the walls of the restaurant. The food was delicious as well, especially the home fries! He got the breakfast skillet and I got the avocado toast. The bread that the avocado toast was on was also particularly tasty and had a great texture to it! The over easy eggs we each got had the perfect amount of runny yolks as well. We each decided to try hot chocolate bombs for the first time while we were there, I had it in my coffee and was very pleased with the mocha flavor!
Above all however, the service was excellent!! From the moment we walked in the door the waitress was warm and welcoming and she continued to be throughout our interaction. She was very attentive and provided the friendliest service I have ever received in Massachusetts (we moved here from Michigan a few years ago). By the end of our brunch the rest of the staff had come out and chatted with us for a bit as well continuing on the atmosphere of welcoming and kindness. I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for tasty food, nice atmosphere, and outstanding service! Thank you Club Car Cafe for starting our day off on...
Read moreHad breakfast on 4/7/24. Come on guys, really??? Please get it together. It could be better if whoever is cooking, gets a lesson!!
My husband's toast was barely toasted. He ordered eggs and bacon. I ordered eggs Benedict with salmon. My eggs were slightly under cooked. The bagel was also not toasted properly and one bagel was toasted more then the other. The coffee could be alot stronger. The orange slice was dried out. The strawberry slice was super over ripe. For the $$ they need to get it together already!! Kinda disappointed.
I'm not gonna say anything to the servers, because what are they gonna do? Someone already thought the toast, the eggs, the orange slice etc. were acceptable. If I have to send it back for repairs, that is another big inconvenience. Get it right the first time please! The place wasn't busy, please don't rush the food! I would rather wait longer and get the food proper.
However the service was excellent! The kitchen needs to step it up. Its eggs and toast. Its not rocket science!! Why don't they know how to toast bread and cook eggs??
Start properly cooking the food and then the place should be busy on a Sunday morning!!
(And they need to get a swiffer to the ceiling corners.)
I would like to try the waffles or pancakes next time. Hopefully the waffles are excellent....
