Hessler's Pub & Grill — Restaurant in Concord

Nice pub, but ABSOLUTELY SUB-PAR food....read on and feel our pain: (Feb 05, 2015) APPETIZER: Fried Green Beans for $9; was merely an average size handful, and small bowl of dipping sauce, that BOTH occupied a small oval salad plate. Other places give you a whole plate full and a side bowl of dipping sauce. (When queried to waitress, she graciously took $4 off the item; making them MAYBE what they were really worth.)

ENTRE-1: $9 buffalo chicken breast sandwich which (OMFG) was nothing more than a BREADED PRESSED-MEAT PATTY like you get at McDonald's! NOT a REAL chicken breast! Took half home to dog; she didn't know or care about the difference. Best part of the meal was the homemade chips, dipped in the massive amount of leftover dip. FAIL

ENTRE-2: $10 steak kabob which was merely 3 cubes of meat separated by a bunch of sliced onion and green pepper filler to make it look appetizing. The best part of the meal being the steamed veggies and rice sides. Fast Eddie's would ROFLAO at it. EPIC FAIL

Absolutely pathetic for a long-time established local business that came highly recommended by friends. I've been to dives that had better food. I suppose you have to drink heavily to ignore the grill's shortcomings. In the end, $24.60 later, a meal for two that left us both wishing we had went to Chevy's as originally planned. Got seated at 6:15 place was busy so we’d knew it’d be awhile. Took about 15 minutes to even give our order taken. Which was still okay. But then probably took 35 minutes to get our appetizers. Then when we asked the waitress about our food she said she thought maybe someone else had brought it out that she’d check. So finally at about 7:30 she brought our food out. The burger had a great taste unfortunately it and the fries were luke warm at best and the cheese wasn’t even melted on the burger. We Watched 3 other tables order after us and get pizzas while we waited on our food. Idk like I said we expected a wait but an hour and 15 minutes to get food seemed excessive especially watching other people who came in after us get their food. Idk if pizzas just cook faster than burgers or their orders get pushed ahead but definitely was a little disappointed. Seeing that we had plans at 7:30 we figured an hour and 15 minutes should’ve given us plenty of time to eat and get to our destination. Unfortunately it wasn’t and we were late. Can’t say I won’t go back because like I said the burger was amazing and I’m sure it would’ve been much better if it were hot but as far as the service goes definitely not a fan. Our top reflected that. And I hate not leaving 20%. But this was maybe the second or third time I’ve ever left...

We’ve been here a few times over the last few months but last night we didn’t have a good experience. The bar tender ID’d my friend and I which I don’t mind since we’re both 23 so we’re used to it. The bartender however held on to our IDs and then was showing them to other staff and other customers at the bar. I get checking them to see if they’re fake but I don’t think showing old men who don’t even work there two younger girls IDs is okay. Especially when they have our address and everything on them. She ended up serving us but she tried not even giving our IDs back. We never had a bad experience before this but we probably won’t be back again just because of that. So if you’re younger, maybe just stay away unless you want complete strangers sitting at the bar to see your ID and all your personal...
