We came on a Sunday around 9:30 pm. The food was made to order but the chips they served was a bit stale. I ordered two Tacos to try, the Asada and the Carnitas and both were good. Nothing to rave about, just your average taco. I like the carnitas because it didn't have that dirty pork taste, like they boil off the first and grill it on a flat top to have these crispy strands of pork. Im comparing it to Guadalara on Fruitvale in Oakland which I think has the best carnitas. The asada was a bit dry and tough. I had to douse it in their spieciest salsa (which was not that spicy at all) to add some moisture. If you've been to Tacos El Patron (best tortillas and salsa) or Los Gallos Express (fresh chips and salsa) then this place can't compare. Still it's a good try but I can't recommend especially if you have two of the best taco spots 5 - 10 minutes away down the street.

Mexican restaurants always get extra points from me if they have mole on the menu. They get even more points when they have it on the lunch menu. Los Pinos does! However, it was just ok. It was lighter in color than most and a bit thin. The redeeming quality is that the flavors were balanced, not "too much" of any one ingredient. Mole on the menu, imo, also means that the menu overall is more diverse in traditional specialty dishes. They had sopes, another hardly offered item, which I would go back and try. My dining companion had the carnitas super burrito and said it was 👍👍!

We used to live close to this place. Hitting it up a least twice a week. Since we live a little further away we forget about it. But this morning my wife wanted some Mexican Breakfast food. To our pleasant surprise Los Pinos has not changed which is a good thing . Food was excellent and plentiful!!! Salsa is just as I remembered. Nothing to complain about here do yourself a favor and give them your business!!!

Ordered take out food, shrimp burrito & tacos. Place looks clean , in order. While waiting for our orders, which took some time, I noticed the lady, with long curly hair, bagging some tortilla chips. She was wearing black gloves. Then she took her phone from her pocket, put the phone down. Answered a call for the restaurant . Used the register. Back to bagging chips. Then went to the back room, came out , cleared a table, took a wet cloth from a bucket & wipe the table. Then, she went back bagging chips. All those time she was wearing the SAME BLACK GLOVES it’s really very unsanitary . She’s protecting her hands not keeping the food free from contaminations. I wonder how it is behind the counter & kitchen. Are the food really clean & not contaminated? I lost my appetite. Will not come back again. Remembering: not all the looks...

So I tried this place for the first time from door dash and it was really good but then had two more times this week and it was absolutely horrible I got a steak and shrimp burrito and it was disgusting so much so I ended up getting a really bad stomach ache leading me to throw up and today I got a regular chicken burrito like how I did the first time and it wasn't even near as good as the first time. Cheese was not melted and it was way too much, it smelled some very bad, the sour cream was also way too much. I could only eat half of it. I can't believe on door dash they don't have a special instructions option for preferences, dietary restrictions, and or allergies. I really do see this place going for some improvement on the food but I really don't see it...
