Panaderia Odalys — Restaurant in Concord

Upon entering this bakery I thought I had been transported back to a wonderful bakery in Puerta Vallarta, Mexico that I thought I'd never see again. The smell is indescribable. It smells like joy and happiness and love. The moment the smells hit my super sensitive nose I breathed it in and closed my eyes and wondered if I had died and was in Heaven. Then the lady working there says ... everything is one dollar twenty-five. I looked in astonishment and said ...what??? She repeated herself as I just stood there looking dumbfounded. Then I asked if we got the items ourself and she said yes. We got a tray and loaded it with so many huge wonderfully smelling treats. I wanted to get more but my husband was giving me the "you're embarrassing yourself look" so I stopped at 1 tray built up into a pyramid of heavenly pastries. I have no idea what I got but as soon as we ate supper I torn into one of the cone shaped custard filled pastries that I now wish I had gotten more of. I will dream of returning here someday soon as we live 3 hrs away. Imo it would be worth the 3 hr drive once a month to get a tray or 2 full of these mouthwatering treats!! P.S. This place smells amazing as soon as you walk in. I don’t like getting out of my comfort zone and had no idea what I was getting and not even sure how to get the pastries until I watched others grab a tray and tongs. I don’t have pictures of what I picked out because my fiancé and I ate them so fast. Will definitely be back soon! Prices were surprisingly low as well. They do only take cash like the other reviews say. Friendly woman at the counter wrapped the “wet” pastries. Definitely be brave, try something new and surprise...

Excellent value for what you get (they accept cash only though). It is self-serve and then you hand to the people behind the cash register and they will put them in bags for you. Our party of six each picked 3-4 items that we shared over the next 24 hours. Most items were well liked, but one of the chocolate filled items was a bit dry right out of the door (I don't know long it might have been sitting in the store). Definitely a great place to go if you need some baked goods/pastries...
