Horizon Computer Systems — Local services in Concord

So I've finally gotten around to sitting down and writing this on the computer I bought from Horizon. I've been too busy playing games that my old laptop (2009 Mac, victim of a beer spill, RIP) couldn't even begin to load.

Now the manager (owner? sorry, been a while) gave me a whole lot of information that I didn't know I needed, and then some. From the start, I felt like he was on a mission to to give/find/build me a product that matched my needs instead of just pushing a quick marked-up display model and calling it a day. He checked the specs of the most intensive games I planned on playing and used that information to inform my personal build. I was there giving the OK at every step of the process. He even check in, days after our consultation, about a quad to six core upgrade for free (yes) and the fan backlight color (and he changed it from green to red.) He even offered to show me the steps of putting my custom computer together, although I was a no-show for that, for which I apologize. Further research on the parts for my new computer shows that the price I got was excellent.

Overall, I consider the staff, especially the manager, transparent, informative, and reliable. I'll go here for all my computational needs...

Our family has been doing business with Horizon for over 8 years now. We have bought over 5 computers with the company and they all turned out to be the best that we have ever purchased. We recently suffered from a devistating house fire in which it required our data to be recovered. Mike recovered every precious, little photo, logo, document, video, that we thought was lost forever. Not only that, we replaced our burnt ones with even better ones! A Samsung laptop, and a custom Asus 1 TB, Quad Core processor tower with a beautiful 20 inch monitor. I don't know what these other fair to poor reviews are all about but they need to continue to shop at Best Buy because they are apparantly too cheap to appreciate good, decent work. If you want a system made for you that will last a long time, go with Horizon. If you wanna go cheap, go cheap and you will get what you pay for. I know I did.Keep up the good...

I stumbled across this place in search of specific hardware locally to avoid shipping costs and lengthy waits on receiving parts. After arriving at the shop and speaking with the employee that decided to engage me (middle aged man with glasses and condescending attitude.) I found their knowledge of computer hardware to be quite basic. I've been building computers for 12+ years, with extensive knowledge of all hardware involved. I was basically told I was wrong about the part I needed and treated like I had no idea what I was talking about. The experience was enough for me to forgo the search for local hardware in the event that I need more and simply order it off a big-box website. At least the websites don't argue with me about what I actually need and how...
