If they keep up their current quality of service and food this place will become my go to restaurant for Chinese food. Food isn’t too spicy if you remove the chili’s while eating.
This is a relatively new restaurant having been only opened for 3-4 months, but it’s also their third store. I got takeout, but I was pretty impressed with how we were treated. Although, they were a little behind with our order (10 minutes behind), likely because we ordered 7 dishes. They served us peanuts and tea while we waited. A very big difference from most restaurants and especially Chinese restaurants. The inside was very clean, almost pristine with white marble like tables and it looked fresh. Maybe they can add some decorations to make it instagramable for people. Food was delicious. Honey walnut shrimp were big and there was just the right amount of batter, Mongolian beef also good, as well as the pan fried dumplings which were my favorite (I think they’re shengjian bao). I could eat those all day. Chow fun was also good with a nice smoky flavor, but need a tiny bit more oyster sauce like a teaspoon or something, egg plant delicious. The beef roll is roast beef in what I assumed is a Chinese/taiwanese pancake; it kind of tasted like a Vietnamese Banh Mi with the cilantro which I like, lastly we had the chili pepper chicken which isn’t too spicy as long as you don’t eat the red peppers. For the chicken it feels like it might be missing a flavor, maybe a sprinkle of sesame oil on top might be good, but something to bring out the umami flavor.
Overall, the flavor, cleanliness, and service is top notch and I hope they...
Read moreAs you might expect from a restaurant named Tasty Szechuan, the food was very tasty so it was well named.
My wife (Chinese) went to the one in Concord last week, and found out they were having a grand opening in Pacheco on 11/18/24, with 20% off. It's not far from our house, so we made plans to go and were not disappointed.
Everything we had was really tasty, the place was clean and looked really nice, and the owner was very friendly. I don't know if she remembered my wife, but as soon as we entered, she greeted her like an old friend. Unfortunately, I speak about two words of Chinese, so I didn't understand any of their conversation.
The food was pretty spicy, even picking out the obvious red peppers. We had a lamb with cumin, some pan-fried juicy pork buns (boy were they juicy!), and a dish they call Dry Hot Pot, where you choose ingredients. We had Lotus Root, Tofu, Fatty Beef, Bok Choy, Shitake Mushrooms, and some other Fungus. It was very tasty, but did have a lot of oil. But everything was very tasty, even the peanuts they serve at the beginning.
I definitely want to go back and try some of the other dishes. We had way too much this time, and I think the Dry Hot Pot by itself would have been plenty for...
Read moreI'm so glad I found this little gem of a place! Finally a place that makes Hot & Sour Soup the way I like it which is just enough hot that you get a little warmth going and sour with just the right thickness to the broth to help catch all the yummy ingredients. Oh, and they gave us a very hearty portion so thank you! I also ordered the Won Ton Soup with Vegetables and wow, the size of the won tons were huge, tender and very tasty and each won ton wrapper remained intact and didn't fall apart which told me they use good quality wrappers. We also ordered the combination chow mein and that too had very large shrimp, tender chicken and beef. Everything was great! The gentleman who took my order over the phone was very friendly, the food was delicious, the prices are very good, and the restaurant is clean and nicely arranged too. This place is now our "go to" for a Szechuan meal and I can't wait to try other items on their menu soon, particularly...
