I don't usually give negative reviews, but this is deemed worth it. I ordered a ribs and brisket combo to go and only received 4 rib bones, which I would have been okay with that because I love ribs, ...... but the ribs were overdone and had zero flavor. It also came with two sides which there was nothing to them in little styrofoam cups with lids The lady waited on three tables before she even acknowledged me. I Have eaten there years ago but don't remember the service or the food being this bad. I would just stay away and wait till you get further down the road to buy some barbecue that's worth it. I gave it 2 stars because a Stealth Bomber flew over the top when I was leaving. Definitely a 1 star experience.
Update: This is a real review, not sure what the owner is talking about I ordered a combo but only received ribs no brisket that was the point. The lady that helped me was attending tables when I arrived. I was not offered a greeting, then another couple came in, which she promptly seated them and then helped another table that already had food before even acknowledging me. The fact owner tries to make you look like a fool and doesn't offer a solution is just another reason to stay away. As I do agree with him the first time I was here (years ago) I did not have the same experience but this is not about my first visit. Changing this review from 2 stars to 1 for the remarks of a owner that offers no sincere apology only to say this is a fake review thats fabricated. He needs to appreciate a customers reviews and not try to make them look as if they made it up and wasn't real. Maybe offer solutions instead of...
Read moreI make runs back and forth on I-70,and regularly stop in Concordia. I'd spotted the crowded parking lot, and knew something was up. Lo and behold, it's a BBQ joint, and I am known to have an affinity for BBQ.
Question becomes: Is this stop gonna be worth it?
Answer here? Oh yeah. I'm glad I stopped, and like Arnold Schwarzenegger, I'll be back! Brisket plate piled high with flavorful slices of tender meat, with a choice of dippin' sauces, hot or mild. I chose the baked beans and cheddar broccoli for sides, with a slice of Texas toast. The baked beans were excellent, smoky and sweet, with meat added into the mix. Delicious! The cheddar broccoli was tasty, as well. But that brisket was on, with a nice bark, and a tender, slightly firm bite, not mushy like some ove had.
I wasn't disappointed in the least. Knowing the prices in many BBQ places, I can't say I was displeased at all. A better serving than many, these days, and the price was fair.
One thing I've noted, shared from another restaurant's page, is that debit/credit card fees add up over a year, and I always try to pay the good local joints with cash, every little bit helps.
Thanks, Dempsey's, for making it...
Read moreThe place is a nice bbq joint and the food is decent, not great but decent. The service started out great but then some sort of an argument started in the kitchen between a guy and my server, never saw my server again the rest of the meal which also means that I never got a refill on my drink. I finally went up to the window and asked one of the kitchen guys if this is where I pay because I needed to get back on the road. Another server said she could take care of me and asked if I had my ticket yet and I said no, she asked me what I had and rang me up, ran my credit card and as I'm signing it my server pops around the corner and days thank you for coming in, I was prepared to leave a very generous tip until the server never came back after dripping off the food. I'm one of those people that a generous tip could be 50% of the total bill all the way to 100% of the total bill, when I'm not very pleased I only leave 20%. Unfortunately I can only leave 3 stars instead of 4, the server could have moved them to a 4 star with good service but unfortunately her argument earned...
